Good of Stephanopoulos to cut JD off and end the interview. More reporters need to be doing this.
Where do these people live? Inside blocked mine adits in the Mojave Desert?
Most Republicans aren’t aware of Trump’s various legal issues.
They don’t want to know.
Sabotaging Ukraine’s effort to defend itself is more Pro Russian than anything McCarthy fetished about. To allow a country to lose it’s identity and sovereignty to another known for cruel colonialism…just to satisfy the selfish contrarian wishes of one man, Trump, is obscene and the world will treat us as such.
It’s not just Trump though. Quit giving the rest of the GOP a pass. They have free will that they don’t exercise. They must agree with him.
They don’t pay attention? Both?
ALEC! I hate those guys!
Opioid manufacturers and other major corporations are pushing legislation to strip away state laws that have been used to sue the pharmaceutical industry for hundreds of millions of dollars over the worst drug epidemic in US history.
The influential rightwing pressure group the American Legislative Exchange Council (Alec), which is funded by large US companies, is behind model legislation to greatly restrict lawsuits under state public nuisance laws which are widely used to hold big business to account.
Public nuisance legislation was central to state lawsuits against the tobacco industry over the damage caused to public health by smoking in the 1990s. The laws are also at the heart of some litigation against fossil fuel companies over the climate crisis and emerging lawsuits against companies that failed to adequately protect workers from Covid.
When did you ever think you’d agree with Ann Coulter? It appears that the GOP is devolving into a Stalinist-versus-Trotskyite sectarianism. I can hardly wait for the show trials and the executions in the Lubyanka.
Only problem is, they’ll drag the rest of the country down as they go.
Still nothing from the DC Circuit on presidential immunity.
There are any number of reasons why this ruling might be taking so long. A plausible explanation, though, is that the judges in this case are working very hard to make sure their ruling is as airtight and bulletproof as possible. As stupid as the premise of the case is (The President is immune to prosecution? Really?!?) These judges know that their decision will be scrutinized probably more than any other decision they make in their careers.
Perhaps they believe that, if their ruling is complete enough, SCOTUS might simply concur and the whole matter can be put to rest more quickly. It’s entirely likely that SCOTUS would rather stay out of this matter if they possibly could so, who knows.
Fani…yawn.
If Biden were to lose, it would be mostly because of self-defeatism by Dems.
Joe’s hair isn’t on fire. And neither is yours.
Biden behind by 5 points? Quinnipiac says he’s ahead by 6. Polls done now, mean less than nothing.
Boy, someone woke up on the wrong side of the editing desk this morning…
IANA dem consultant, but it seems to me that having a bill in the senate known as a border bill that republicans will tank with zero negotiations is a big opportunity for Dark Brandon to show the country that repubs are putting politics over their own alleged priorities.
For me, an appropriate response to the GQP’s rhetoric and actions:
Media “analysis:” Biden’s Blowout Win in South Carolina Conceals Major Electoral Weakness
Also, “he’s too old.”
Tried to get another David Brooks response to the Ukraine aid situation out of ChatGPT. This isn’t as good. It nailed the obstructionism, and blames the Democrats, but it might be too close to the truth, although the “Democrats’ purported oversight of the GOP’s bad faith” is pretty spicy.
Brooks, a seasoned commentator, suggests that the Democrats’ inability to address border challenges adequately stems from a lack of recognition of the GOP’s bad-faith negotiating tactics. He contends that the Democrats’ approach, marred by a perceived naivety, fails to acknowledge the obstructionist tactics employed by Republicans. While Brooks acknowledges the complexities of immigration policy, he places a significant portion of the blame on the Democrats for their failure to navigate the political landscape effectively. In this narrative, the Democrats’ purported oversight of the GOP’s bad faith is portrayed as a major stumbling block in achieving comprehensive and bipartisan solutions to the longstanding border issues.
I remember when Luke Combs sang her song, and from WaPo, this is what she said at the time,
“I never expected to find myself on the country charts, but I’m honored to be there. I’m happy for Luke and his success and grateful that new fans have found and embraced ‘Fast Car.’”
No controversy for her, it appears. And, boy, did I get teary-eyed when she played those first few notes and heard the crowd roar in appreciation. Love that song.
