Dems Accuse Trump-Allied Post Master Of ‘Partisan Games’ Amid Election Mail Delay | Talking Points Memo

I really believe turnout will be unprecedented. It broke records here in the primary.

So all the Eeyores upthread waving good bye to our democracy are doing that way prematurely.

No way he goes to that, I reckon.

It looks like the plan is just to make a the election disaster so that we all shrug and say “oh well, the incumbents stay in place.” Worth a shot, I guess.

He might not (it’s the Trump era), but he’s new to government and blowback can be larger in this eta.

They can’t mail in their votes if there is no mail.

This was planned by someone who hates Trump’s family and surrogates. It must have been.

We’re going to certainly learn a lot about how easily it goes poof.

Will it work? We shall see, but I told you this was no holds barred, nothings off limits end game and they are following what I predicted for months if not years. Don’t you fucking eeyore me or claim its all still an extreme viewpoint. Its not and never was. It is literally all playing out in your face.

How about a little Impeachment, part two? Something drastic needs to happen or we are all screwed.

Oh, stop. Everyone has been saying he’d pull out all the stops before November. We’ve been warned. We know exactly what’s going on here.

Forewarned is forearmed.

We need to find a US Attorney willing to charge General DeJoy (is he really having fun?) with obstructing the US Mail:

Whoever knowingly and willfully obstructs or retards the passage of the mail , or any carrier or conveyance carrying the mail , shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

DeJoy pressed lawmakers to take legislative action that would help pad the USPS’ financial losses…

Easy peasy. Get rid of the pre-funding mandate and the USPS will no longer operate at a deficit.

blah blah blah I was right and that sucks for anyone who thought this wasn’t end game…bring it on.

Dude. Instead of patting yourself on the back, a questionable high-five, do something to make sure every vote counts.

I wish that some Dem Rep would just play nice and ask DeJoy interview questions:
So what is the largest number of employees you ever had on payroll?
What’s your experience managing a labor intensive national business?
What is you math or engineering background ( this is because these folks know who use systems and read data).

Because quite frankly appointing someone who gave a campaign $2 M is not enough for this job. I thought that single digit million donations got one an Ambassadorship in a small and insignificant country without a beach.

deflection…nice…always fun to watch the “im more virtuous than you” maneuver. Do I have to go back thru my thousands of posts to repost them and prove it? Nobody gets wetsy pants when @castortroy does it…perhaps because you like what he predicted. Well tough…for once I’m going to claim a little credit. Nobody likes what I have to say about it but you don’t have to. I told you USPS tampering. I told you martial law (and no, them avoising the name doesn’t make me wrong…Barr has clearly expressed in past interviews this is their hook for avoiding having to call it martial law). I told you they would go all out, that there would be no limit, that it will eacalate without surprise, that no laws matter, that the courts are powerless to help, that absolutely anything at hand…even a pandemic…will be used to suppress votes, that arguments relying on existing systems, institutions and organizational structure are completely off base and have no merit. It plays out over and over and over again and it is coming to a head and their walls are closing in amd there is nothing…NOTHING…they will not do this time in order to preve t a change of power. Biden doesn’t just need a mask. He needs a vest and helmet.

I get it…nobodys going to thank or congratulate the asshole who finally accurately predicts the rapture or Armageddon or the Spanish Inquisition or whatever. But he was still right.

The only thing drastic is that someone needs to spell out or ask Trump to spell out what the fuck he has done for the working class. And fact check him on the spot. Ask why when he has the House and the Senate all that these folks got was temporary bump up in their paychecks while millionaires and billionaires got permanent tax cuts. Where’s the infrastructure projects, where are jobs back from China, are the farmers doing better or worse than before Trump took office.
But I fear we’re past the point where fact have become irrelevant, and maybe just talk about how we have no national testing program. That healthcare workers and medical professionals are worn out and burned out. That Trump has no plan(s) for a second term other than to stay out of court, and up his grifting game.

It’s late and too risky to expect institutional checks like the IG. That clearly won’t work. The House had many chances to do something, including making pandemic relief conditional on election security, and decided instead to let Trump do his worst and bet on a regular November election. That bet is not looking good, to put it mildly.

There must now be a concerted effort by grassroots Dems to inform the public of the alternatives to voting by mail: using drop boxes, going to election offices, etc. Alternatively a massive push to get people to vote safely in person, which is entirely possible. We’re going to have to do this ourselves, just as in 2018. The good news is that it is entirely doable. Here’s a start:
