Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) and 17 other Senate Democrats wrote a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Tuesday asking that voter registration services be offered at tax preparation assistance centers across the country — an expansion they say could add over 100,000 new voters to the rolls.
Every little bit helps. Let’s go Yellen! Do it!
VITA has been coming to our public library for years. This is great.
All of these are good efforts, and all will be swept away on Jan 20, 2025 if a Republican wins (or steals) the presidency. Maybe they help stem the tide against that, but we really need legislation to give voting rights teeth.
Voting is the Republic Saving Act which too many of us took for granted…

Expand the voter rolls where, across the entire country? If so, this won’t have any real effect at all.
Gotta start somewhere, right?
It goes hand in hand with getting the Democrats to message more and better, and not like Warner and Kaine did Sunday.
The more voters, the better, they tend to be more low intensity so less primitive minded trumpers. But ya gotta message them with what we do for them and how we are actually working to make a better country and world for them, unlike lying jerks like trump and gosar and the rest.
It would be nice if we could get like transcripts of what trump actually said, and who told him what and so on, and if his whole family was tried and convicted of thievery in some form and trade violations and lying and deceiving etc.
This seems like good messaging. We’re not abolishing the filibuster, we’re restoring the senate
We MUST get that voting bill passed, for crissakes. Yes, I know it won’t be easy, but we gotta do it. We’re screwed as a nation without it.
