Despite all that, watch them try to do maximum damage to America in response - so that they can “own the libs.” TFG may remain in hiding, though - for fear of a warrant.

If the Republicans vote down the continuing resolution with the debt ceiling limit, it seems like the perfect opening to torpedo the filibuster and pass it on a straight party line.
Solves the immediate problem, with nice “more in sorrow than in anger” optics and frees dems up to enact the rest of their platform
That seems like more upside than shoving more into the reconciliation bill

Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth it (for her) to get vaccinated for the benefit of her kids. Ensuring her health with the vaccine wasn’t a priority. But she didn’t let hatemongers Hannity or Levin down!

Does anyone know of a reason to have a debt ceiling except to have a political weapon to fight over. The debt ceiling law can be as simple as a single sentence stating that the debt ceiling shall not exceed a certain number. Each time it needs to be raised just increase the number. No other changes needed. Besides can anyone tell me what the effect would be if we did not have a debt limit?
