Three months into the beginning of Trump II, one prominent House Democrat is issuing a warning to El Salvador President Nayib Bukele and other authoritarian leaders around the globe who may, in cozying up to President Trump, help facilitate America’s own decline into autocracy: this won’t last forever. It’s a bleak but practical message as Democrats…
I just want to know how J.D. Vance killed the Pope. Polonium? A confession about the couch-fucking? We need to know now.
“Democrats Warn Bukele and Other Autocrats”
Yeah, now watch the Republicans squeal about “politics stops at the water’s edge” and “you don’t make Foreign Policy – that’s up to The President!” … Or up to any random Republican on the street. Them’s the rulez.
Bukele is a fool to keep going along with Trump. The next Democratic president is likely to treat him as the war criminal he is.
I know everyone has to wax eloquent about the late Pope. If I see an article about it written by someone named Francis X. something I know it’s from a catholic author. Pope Francis has passed and in the next few days he will be lauded as some kind of transformative figure. Most young people brought up as Catholic will not return to the Church in their lifetime. The various scandals, especially, the abuse of kids will not go away. The fact that he did little to address it remain.
Okay, apropos of nothing… another aviation “incident”, this one in Florida and involving Delta:
The near 300 folks on board were successfully evac’d on the tarmac after the plane’s engine caught fire as it taxied away from the gate. Seems like no sooner than the Convicted Criminal installs himself as chief executive and the air travel system falls apart. Coincidence?
Well since El Salvador is in Central America, and DonOLD thinks every country in North, Central, and South America should be ruled over by him. Then there’s no water barrier, so there’s no problem.
Well if DonOLD could stop playing golf, then that would free up time for him to personally to command the troops at the border. Why he has to go home every weekend is not being a leader.
Well, actually, you’re right … one could drive to El Salvador, since both North and South America are connected, ignoring that pesky Panama Canal thing, which I’m sure has various bridges over it. (I need a new globe)
El Salvador is north of Panama. I did check before I posted.
My father had a friend from collage who after his undergraduate degree from University of Rolla, MO, and before he settled down to work on his doctorate traveled through Mexico, Central America, and I believe the northern part of S. America. He even handmade a dugout canoe to travel some of the waterways. Also somewhere along his travels got a black lab puppy-he named her Tar Baby that traveled with him.
Let 'em squeal.
The louder they holler, the happier it makes me.
Bukele says he has no authority to remove Garcia from CECOT yet he moved Garcia to a different prison before Van Hollen met Garcia. Lies in the best trump tradition.
Hopefully, that man will not be President until 2029. I have been disappointed while reading the obituaries for some time now.
I’ll confess that these past three months have radicalized me. The Trump administration jokes about invading El Salvador to return Abrego Garcia. I am very much in favor of the next Democratic President invading El Salvador to bring Bukele back to the United States to atone for his smirking disregard of our laws and traditions. For me he is no different than Osama bin Laden.
The next President cannot - must not - repeat the mistakes of Merrick Garland of failing to prosecute Trump and his gang, or the mistake of pardoning Nixon. It is time our elites face the same wrathful system of justice that the rest of us face.
Ron Vara was right!
Green Bay Sweep!
This is just so much papal bull.
Just recall the reign of JP the Second. Transformative they said and ok in some ways but the shits just kept coming with abuse scandal stories. Then Pope Benedict, the Nazi-adjacent. Vatican politics reminds me of the USA. There is something missing in both and it’s called accountability.
I know it is wildly optimistic, but damn, tell me the wheels are not coming off on Trump II.
The Miller Shrillometer is pegging high. While muffled to most of us, to Republicans it has to be hurting their ears.
