When you are this bad at sophisticated political gamesmanship, everything is a pawn to you.

The power of the purse belongs to Congress…
Trump is grandstanding for his base and falsely grabbing power from Congress…

Once again, President-Lawless&Disorder shows he wants to be k-i-n-g in a republic practicing democracy = MORON!

DON’T GET DISTRACTED. The man is a liar and a fraud. Barr is his loyal consiglieri and parrots Donnie. CONGRESS has the power of the purse. They are ALSO up for re-election and it behooves them to do their fkn jobs.

OT. My daughter alerted me to this release from Rachel Levine, MD, president of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO)

https://astho.informz.net/informzdataservice/onlineversion/ind/bWFpbGluZ2luc3RhbmNlaWQ9MzA3MDAxMCZzdWJzY3JpYmVyaWQ9MzY2NzU3NzUz

State and territorial health officials are alarmed by the number of policy decisions made by the federal government just last week without prior consultation with state and local public health officials. The failure to provide notice and pre-decisional consultation has a significant impact on our work to protect the health of the American public and in fostering an atmosphere of transparency, trust, and confidence between public health officials and the communities they are working so hard to serve during this historic public health crisis. Policy guidance should only be modified when robust scientific evidence is utilized, the rationale is clearly explained, there is consensus among states on the need for change, and the guidance is determined to be in the best interests of the public’s health and not political expediency.

ETA. My daughter had her MPH conferred yesterday.

Not that it would help anything, but can Congress defund all White House functions? Taken to an extreme there would be no running water, no electrical service, no heat, no air conditioning.,…No elevator service for fat assholes…

In all likelihood, the asshole would simply unlawfully steal money from some other funds.

Wait till the end of the month when the CR comes up in Congress. At this point I’d support a total shutdown.

Congrats to your daughter! We’re certainly going to need her and her expertise. And she’s already shown she is tuned into the necessity for her and other scientists to resist political manipulation. Well done!:sparkler::fireworks::confetti_ball:

Trump Threatens To Defund Police In Major Cities

What the headline for this story should actually be. I hope one of those major mayors starts to scream this in front of TV cameras.

Trump must have been the kid who took his ball home when the other kids wouldn’t allow him a do over every time he screwed up.

So far as Trump is concerned, this was “mission accomplished”.

No conversation about COVID (check!), no discussion about Black Lives Matter demonstrators, no discussion about impeachment, no conversation about bad polls, no conversation about losing the election (all Check!). The only conversation is about what Donald said, how he said it, and who was forced to respond.

Looks like a classic Trump incitement and deflection operation that is (of course!) focused on himself. Mission accomplished.

I love it. The Twit-In-Chief can’t tweet.

We’d still need to ensure that no wireless carriers could provide signal into the White House. Might have to build a Faraday cage around the building…for the safety of the occupants, of course.

New York AG Letitia James: “If the president actually decides to move forward with his threat to defund New York City, we will be ready to take immediate legal action. The president is not a dictator and his efforts at tyrannical rule will be met with fierce opposition.”

Remember that everyone said that Trump’s executive order to provide $300 in unemployment benefits was illegal because Congress had not appropriated the money. But it is happening now.

Now Kenosha has a “weak” Democratic mayor and Wisconsin a “weak” Democratic Governor yet Trump pledged millions to rebuild the city and for the police on Tuesday. Apparently Trump is not defunding swing states even if wimpy Democrats run them.
