Does anyone know someone who’s out cheerleading for abortions? Everyone I know who thinks and writes about it wants to prevent abortions through education and ready access to birth control and emergency contraceptives. When abortions are needed, they should be given without question in the safest and most humane setting possible. No if, ands, or buts about it.
If that misstates either of your positions @sniffit and @southerndem, please correct me.
So a Dem can be anti-abortion, but if s/he opposes education, birth control, open access to doctors and pharmacies, and accessible safe medical settings, then yes, they should be shown the door. That’s the line Tim Kaine walks, and I don’t believe it’s as fine as all that.
Just think about the fanatics on the other side who disregard everything that could improve their lives because they truly believe that women are having abortions to fit in their prom gowns. Get down to that level and you’ve ended any chance of making a real difference.
