DeJoy’s Much-Anticipated 10-Year Plan Features Slower Mail Delivery Standards | Talking Points Memo

Well there’s 9 governors - does DeJoy get to vote on his own position? That would suuuuuck. The current board:

Republicans
Louis DeJoy
Roman Martinez IV
Robert M. Duncan
John McLeod Barger
William D. Zollars

Democrats
Donald L. Moak
Ron A. Bloom

Nominees
Ron Stroman (D)
Anton Hajjar (D)
Amber McReynolds (I)

According to Wiki which is never wrong, “The 9 governors elect the postmaster general”. So hopefully the three nominees would give us a 5-4 advantage? I thought even one of the existing R governors was making uncomfortable noises about DeJoy, but that could have been me dreaming.

Except Bloom is in on this atrocity with DeJoy.

DeJoy must be removed.

I hope you see the amount of work that’s gone into this,” Bloom told reporters of the plan. “This is an organization-wide effort.

“I hope that the American people, that the Congress, that all of the people who depend on the Postal Service can work with us together in the period ahead as we restore this amazing American treasure,” he added.

I took that as meaning vehicles with a wide range of interests, but I like your interpretation better!

Everything Trump needs to go. Fire the current board, replace with the three plus whatever, get rid of that Corbett person, reinstitute the old banking Service, get rid of the pension mandate, FIRE Dejoy for violating postal and election law and jail him for the rest of hims self righteous life.

There, problem solved.

Wow…this ‘plan’ seems like a simple SCREW BEZOS NOW! plan. That ‘regular’ people get hurt is just so much collateral damage.

“We are not in a position right now to identify” which shell the pea is under, said DeJoy.

Have the FBI or the IRS do some digging. SOBs of the DeJoy kind have all kind of skeletons in the closet.

It’s disturbing even to me how often things make me think about Bugs Bunny. I realize I have a problem.

The wider delivery window for long-distance mail comes in part from a shift away from air travel, which the USPS says is “costly and unreliable,” to ground transport.

Going from air to truck or train. I guess that’s what’s meant by “making America great again,” just like it was in 1900. I’m surprised he didn’t go all in and announce that the mail would henceforth be delivered by stagecoach and pony express.

Get rid of this idiot. Now.

10 year plan? It might be anecdotal but I’ve already noticed a severe slow down in normal first-class mail to businesses and family.

“Something’s got to change”

Yeah, USPS needs to be a fully subsidized federal service that makes no compromises, not a failing clownshow run by someone deeply invested in private shipping companies and deliberately broken by congresscritters who take money from private shipping companies to keep the USPS non-competitive.

Dems would have a nominal majority except one of the Dems is apparently a DINO?

Biden recently nominated three people to the service’s Board of Governors, which could form a majority needed to can DeJoy — except that the board chair, Democrat Ron Bloom, has backed the postmaster general.

Slowing down the mail and jacking up the costs. I suppose to some that’s Making America Great Again but it’s really just an example of what a bad idea it is to run government like a business. What the hell is Biden waiting on?

What the hell kind of crazy crap is that? You sound like Thomas Jefferson or John Adams…or the rest of the Mt. Rushmore losers.

They have a 10-year plan, but they can’t even tell us a single detail other than “it will be worse and cost more”. And if it were only at the edges of the postal system that they were planning to have longer service, they’d be able to generate maps that would show you that.

Not only a destructive crook, an incompetent destructive crook.

So, if I heard this right, now DeJoy plans on taking 10 years to deliver 1st class mail.

or that was the thought bubble above his head.

They do need to do something. I ship products for a living. The biggest problem with the USPS right now is not shipping speed it’s reliability. If they reduce FCM to the stated service standards, but it’s now reliable - it’s a win. I can pay more for priority mail service if we need something delivered faster. FCM is a great deal at reasonable delivery times - as long as it’s delivered when it’s supposed to be.

Congress should allow them to stop pre-funding, let them go all electric on the fleet, and institute postal banking.

Clearly those dropboxes are just an open invitation for fraud and an affront to democracy. I hope your state legislature is moving quickly to eliminate their use. Despite the dropbox’s convenient location in your case, all ballots should be required to transit the US Postal System in order to count.
