Ahhhh…those conflicts of interest, 18 USC 1703…and whose order was it to lock the mailbox?

I just walked to the USPS mailbox that I use EVERY SINGLE DAY sometimes twice a day to send orders for my small business.

It appears to be locked.

I. Am. LIVID.

The fleecing of America. Sadly, DeJoy is a rookie in comparison to the King of Pigs.

Dead man walking - I sense jail time in his near future. It’s worse than “Brownie, you’re doing a heckuva job”… Wow, I never thought I’d say this, but those were the simpler days, weren’t they.

The basic criminal conflict of interest statute, 18 U.S.C. § 208, prohibits Government employees from participating personally and substantially in official matters where they have a financial interest. In addition to their own interests, those of their spouse, minor child, general partner, and certain other persons and organizations are attributed to them. Assets and other interests, such as employment interests, may also present potential conflicts under other criminal and civil statutes, as well as the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch.

So if this affects the delivery of Xmas cards, will that be the “War on Christmas” we’ve been hearing about?

So I trust he can provide evidence that he has recused himself entirely from any and all USPS matters that might affect his financial interests (the only way to avoid the criminal implications under Federal law of the conflicts)? I thought not. Of course when DOJ is also on the take and wouldn’t prosecute they can do what they want.

He needs to be tried by a jury of people who all make about the same amount of money as I do. And he needs to serve hard time. Sick of this crap…

Yeah, the prosecution team can bust their asses putting together a great case, knowing it’s all for naught because Trump will just pardon him.

There might be war for Christmas no matter what happens.

I just hope that Putin has tired of the simpering fuck and drops the kompromat to stick it to him.

The thing that really disappoints me is that I’m not in the least surprised.

There are only 155 days to go until January 20, with the Holiday recess in late December. I doubt an indictment for criminal conflict of interest could drop before January, but maybe Trump would try a blanket pardon in advance?

Everything happening today was presaged by 60s folkies, mostly Dylan and Phil Ochs:

“And I would send a message,
to find out if she’s talked,
But the Post Office has been stolen,
And the mailbox is locked.”

Somebody please explain to me again whether Trump can pardon someone who clearly and knowingly broke the law to help him. Isn’t that illegal, corrupt intent or something like that? Isn’t this a known indirect restriction on the pardon power? Otherwise, what’s to stop him from ordering someone to take out a political or business opponent, then pardon them? Is there case law here, or even statute?

Shouldn’t this story have been front and center when he was confirmed? There is nothing hidden about it. Right now we are interested in De Joy’s work to advance Trump’s campaign for reelection.
