I hear a lot of media executives talk about why you shouldn’t unionize. But there are no good reasons to not unionize.

Finland has a highly unionized workforce. This means that everybody’s salary is known and allows for sophisticated payroll payment systems that link the employer, the tax office, the employee’s bank account, the pension company and even third-party garnishments. When the covid crisis hit, workers were told to stay home and they would get paid part, say, 80% of their salary based on previous month’s performance. The money flow was simply reversed. There was no catastrophic explosion in unemployment immediately, and normalization is possible even on a case by case assessment. Having unions means your country doesn’t act inconsistently or capriciously when serious events happen. Indeed, part of this is the long running awareness of the damage that may arise from general strikes.

It’s gotten very simple in end-game predatory capitalism: if executives say it’s not good for the company that means it’s good for the workers and for society at large which means unionize your asses off.
Might want to kill all the lawyers too but that could be negotiable; don’t know.
Seems a shame but there it is.
Lawyers represent the anti-corporatist and anti-authoritarian interests, too.
