De Blasio Calls Latest Allegations Against Cuomo ‘Disqualifying’ For Governor | Talking Points Memo

I recall Mayor DeBlasio and his health commissioner acting like deer in headlights at the beginning of the outbreak and Governor Cuomo pulling rank on him.

I lived in that time. You can motivate a lot of people with fear, anger and disgust.

He has his shiv out before the first woman came forward

Honestly, DeBlasio is doing the opposite of helping.

The Cuomo the people elected was not the Cuomo we are now seeing. (Although some of us have had other reasons for not being fans for some time.) The Covid-19 Nursing home coverup is not the first for Andrew Cuomo.

The aggression against women is part of a larger pattern of bullying. Some of it seems to be part of NY politics - it’s hard to be a nice person and thrive in the bare knuckles power struggles and the media bottom feeders like the NY Post.

Any single accusation might have been survivable, but the cumulative weight is starting to be undeniable.

Yeah if he continues on in office this is going to be a huge problem following him around. We aren’t Republicans.

Speaking of which: The guy next to Senator D’Amato in this staged “drug buy” managed to smear a progressive mayor badly enough to get himself elected.

Investigate soon. This smells of trumpistic tactics. One word: Al Franken

Not to me. It smells of Trump’s approach to women.

Happened in Texas too.

Are you saying that because it happened elsewhere it’s ok? I don’t see how that makes it ok.

Having her testify under oath before a committee while keeping her identity secret should not be too big of a burden for her. There’s a lot at stake, we don’t try people in the media.

Note that Tara Reade stands by her story. And she’s publicly supported the accusers of Andrew Cuomo.

New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio on Thursday joined the chorus of calls

From him, at this time, not helpful.

Cuomo isn’t resigning. The NY Dems can either impeach him or vote him out. Neither will happen.

Funny thing is that even after Cuomo resigns (which I hope he does), he’ll still be more effectual than De Blasio.

So you don’t like deBlasio, so…what?

Are Cuomo’s accusers also documented lifetime grifters and liars? I seem to remember Tara going from flavor of the month with a national prime time TV interview to quickly crashing and burning as her whole history came out. Maybe you missed that part.

Also, one accuser many years later, with zero other accusers after Biden’s decades in public office.

Picked up on that, did ya?

He strikes me as having a sleazy used car dealer persona, trying to be the Gillibrand to Cuomo’s Franken. Cuomo is likely guilty as sin, DeBlasio is just trying to score cheap points for himself, IMHO.
