Tonight is a full moon.
Well, the norm is for GOP elected judges to blather on about respect for the rule of law without getting specific, while their base knows damned well what specifics they have in mind. But it provides the figleaf to draw some independents.
More evidence we didn’t need that it’s a pre-req to be a whiny ass l’il _____* for RethuglisKKKums.

Wisconsin Democrats finally learned how to campaign and fight fire with fire. They have generally been punching bags, and when attacked by Russthugs, they would take the ‘high ground’ approach which guarantees losing elections.

With this result, it seems pretty clear that the trench lines have stabilized in Ds favor and will remain that way – as all trench warfare does
I agree. Repubs jumped the shark when they reversed Roe. The pilling on with laws outlawing contraceptive Rx, criminalizing abortion and just in general performing like characters some Puritan morality play will continue to hurt them and they’re too dumb to know that.
My point is that they tide has already turned in Ds favor and it will take a dramatic change in the Rs favor to shift voters from their current positions. Rs know this and are grasping at anything they can – like the fiction that Trump is the subject of a witch hunt and people will turn against Ds as a result.
It sure looks like the Ds have rebuilt the “Blue Wall” of MI/WI/PA among voters, and with some pretty solid, reliable blocs. If Rs continue to rally 'round Trump, you might see some reliably red states shift as well, such as Ohio and Iowa. Once suburban men finally see Trump as the weak loser/liar he is – and I know how suburban men think – they will disengage and either sit out elections or hold their noses and vote for Ds. It won’t be dramatic. We’re talking about trench warfare here. But just enough on the margins to shift the country back to a more sensible path. And those rural FOX News watchers can enjoy their own trenches without the power they crave to tell the rest of us how to live.
Not according to what’s happening in some states lately. They’ve gerrymandered the heck out of some states, which if fixed would lead to very different results. Look what happened in Michigan. More people need to get up off their couches and vote though.
Pessimism is not going to win anything except more grief.
The Wisconsin Repukes don’t have a 2/3’s majority in the house. They have a bare super-majority in the Senate. Was reading that they need both houses with a 2/3’s vote to get her out.
Plus they have to present charges so that in itself will be interesting to see what they can conjure up. And that might bite a few of them in the ass in the next election.

Sorry, I don’t mean to be obtuse, but I’m not sure what you’re getting at. If it’s basically what @occamscoin pointed out about nominees, I get that.
Thanks. I replaced 'liberal; with ‘broad,’ which is a more accurate statement and usage.
No, I was not implying that you were unaware of this dynamic; but, simply amplifying on the kinds of criticisms reactionaries don’t apply to themselves. Their purpose seems to be more to hobble, shame and discredit their opponents and gain advantage than to appeal to, or formulate, any kind of ground rules for conduct in an election.

he’s accusing Justice P of are things he did himself.
It is not unduly repetitious to keep reminding ourselves that is a key characteristic of authoritarians like Kelly: every accusation is a confession.
Another key characteristic appears to be arrested development; e.g., emotional maturity level rarely exceeds juvenile heroic fantasies w/ frustrated lashing-out when balked.
They only need a majority in the lower chamber to impeach.
He lost then shortly after put fort a rant that proved the voters were right to reject him. Twice. The guy put his temperament on display and I’ll bet the people of Wisconsin realize they dodged a bullet. That angry childish person could have been on their top Court.
I think the people of Wisconsin are finally fed up with the rigged districts that favor the GOP. Wasn’t it in Wisconsin where, in the 2018 mid-terms the Democrats received more than 60% of all the votes cast. And yet some how the republicans won 55% of the seats. I think Wisconsin is sick of the minority rule by the lying sacks of corrupt crap in the GOP.
Does Wisconsin have recall elections for elected state officials?
Only requires majority to reach the Senate in WI. Shitshow incoming.
The Assembly may impeach an elected official by a majority vote based on specific reasons: corrupt conduct in office or for the commission of a crime or misdemeanor. [Wis. Const. art. VII, s. 1, and s. 17.06 (1), Stats.] If a majority of the Assembly votes to impeach, the impeachment moves to the Senate.

Was reading that they need both houses with a 2/3’s vote to get her out.
You’re the second person to post this error, so lets stamp it out right now. Impeachment in WI works like it does in congress. 50% majority of the house to impeach, 2/3s majority of the senate to convict and remove. The GOP has 64/99 seats in the WI House, well over the threshold to impeach.
Now there’s a judicial temperament.
I believe I read somewhere that this is not Kelly’s first major loss for a higher position on the bench. Makes me think the people of Wisconsin just think he’s a dick. And with this kind of missive he again proves why. He ran a dirty campaign and GAWD punished him again because she hates him! He just doesn’t get it because he’s too full of himself.

That angry childish person could have been on their top Court.
He was on the WI supreme court from 2016-20. Appointed to a vacancy by the governor. He lost his first election bid in 2020. Then again in 2023. Hee-hee-hee.
