Looks like the DC grand jury has disproven the old adage that any prosecutor could get an indictment for a ham sandwich.

Hopefully a sign of the way things will be. The Orange Idiot’s idea of making every murder case a death penalty case will meet the same problem, juries don’t like sentencing people to death except in the darkest of circumstances . Outside Cat will have breakfast now, no hoagies thank you !

Dear Mr. President: The Constitution does not say you can “do anything you want.” It specifically says you are to execute the laws faithfully. Perhaps you don’t remember swearing an oath to that effect twice? 25 47.

Today is a good day for Trump to die.

My favorite playlist consists of tunes from the 20s, 30s, and 40s these days, perhaps for obvious reasons. A redux of the worst decades of the 20th century, this time with nuclear weapons and a successful fifth column in the US.

I can reduplicate the booze, the life as an expat, the cigarettes, but can someone please produce some better music and some decent movies to rise to the occasion?

I don’t suppose he remembers what he did last week. That doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t Examine every proposed action take care to execute the laws faithfully, fairly, and according to established precedent.

Unfortunately, demented dictators see things differently

Denmark summons US charge d’affaires over alleged attempts to interfere with Greenland’s status

We are getting big news just in from Denmark, which has summoned the US charge d’affaires in the country over alleged attempts to interfere with the status of Greenland, a long-term point of interest for the new US administration of Donald Trump.

In a comment to public broadcaster DR, foreign minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said that “any attempt to interfere in the Kingdom’s internal affairs will obviously be unacceptable.”

The move comes after DR reported that Danish intelligence services have uncovered a network of “at least three” people working on “influence operations” in Greenland to drive a wedge between Denmark and the territory, in a bid to pave the way for it to get closer to the United States.

A few years ago Al Stewart came out with an album called “ Between The Wars “ with songs about those years and in that style. Al was an avid historian and he caught the era correctly, I wish he would have done a second volume

A legal question lingers. While the Executive branch is hurling insults at judges of all stripes, what is the Supreme leader of the Supreme Court doing or not doing? He heads up the court system as I understand it. As such, shouldn’t he be coming to the courts’ defense? If they can do it to one judge, they can do it to all judges including the feckless and complicite Roberts.

Trump will just have to sign an executive order decreeing grand juries cannot decline to bring indictments. He can do that, he’s the President, he can do anything he wants.
