Cuomo Wishes He Had Acted Sooner On COVID-19 Pandemic

Leaders are capable of learning.

Donald Trump already knows everything there is to learn.

I hope the event is televised when this info is told to Trump. That would be some Must See TV!

We start the day at 1,012,147 corona virus cases. Fatalities stand at 56,933. It appears we will reach 60,000 fatalities in 2-3 days (and possibly sooner). That number includes 133 deaths reported just this morning. Just scanning the early reports for today, it looks like we will fit the same pattern where Sun/Mon tend to be lighter reporting days and Tuesday-Saturday have much higher reports of casualties and infections.

The virus has been on cruise control for the past 3 weeks and much of the media, the GOP and the political community are in denial about it. As the virus has spread, you’re seeing higher growth in Trump counties and swing counties. You can see it in places like PA, MI, WI, OH, IA, TX and others.

Yes, Cuomo acted too slowly. But I will defend him some, the real problem is that bill debasio is a self centered fool, and ignored his Heath advisors and down played the pandemic.

And both I turn lacked the screening warnings trump was getting, and probably were false reassured by trump’s lies.

So yes, I appreciate the honesty. Cuomo is probably 2% at fault, de Blasio is 23% at fault, and trump is 75% at fault.

We are going to get two historic numbers today. 58,220 deaths (number who died in Vietnam) and 1 million infections.

Numbers have meaning because we give them meaning, and fate has given us two impactful signs of trump’s complete failure on a single day.

Absolutely. My governor has said as much as well even though KY has done a great job at flattening the curve. Like you said, any decent policy maker with even only one Covid death would wish they’d done a better job. The fact that the Dotard is praising himself for wracking up more deaths to Covid in six weeks than occurred in twenty years of the Vietnam War is insane.

We reached 1 million infections yesterday.

Yup. DT got classified briefings that governors and mayors don’t get, and when you add in the muzzling, I don’t think they can be blamed for not responding sooner.

De Blasio term ends on 12/31/21
Cuomo can probably win another 2 terms if he wants (Term ends 12/31/22)

Trump’s term will end on 1/20/2021 at 12 noon ET.

Not on any site I know. Hopkins has 988K right now. Deaths at 56,253. Other cites (coved-19 tracking, which are useful lag Hopkins slightly)

Someone has a tv ad ready with the Vietnam contrast ready to go.

P.s. no doubt we passed both numbers several days ago given untested deaths/illness, but reported number I know of no place that has passed Either number. It will be today’s story.

As they say Timing is everything,

I am counting on trump getting several long - overlapping terms after 1/20/21 at noon - in jail.

Hopefully New York charges him at 12:01 pm on 1/20/21 to get the ball rolling.

Yes the indictments should be made a week later. Let Biden enjoy his moment.

I sure hope you’re right, especially about that last one.

You are right. Don’t step on his honeymoon too quickly. Plus it will take a while for the federal investigations to ramp up and only so much N.Y. can charge him with. The serious crimes are federal.

In both cases, Resident Bone Spurs did nothing.

Trump will be tweeting like crazy but he won’t have any power to do anything. The Republicans after their stinging defeat (see 2008) will treat Trump as they did W.

The Republicans will not work with Pres. Biden- we are in the same pattern as year 2009 next year. I hope Biden & his team learned what they did to Obama.

Based on his words and inactions alone, i can only assume that this is his plan. 70,000 deaths is his Purple Heart.

Have you looked at https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ ?
They seem to have more up to date statistics.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) expressed regret on Monday that he and other leaders across the world hadn’t responded to the COVID-19 virus more quickly when it began emerging in China at the end of 2019.

Trump will blame Cuomo, because Trump is all about Trump being perfect and Trump can do no wrong, while all others are the root of all of Trump’s problems.

The truth is that Trump is to blame for this pandemic getting so far out of hand. Trump fired public health personnel from the NCS, DHS and HHS who were responsible for suppressing pandemics. Trump eliminated 80% of our off-shore public health first responders even though he was begged not to do it. The people Trump fired in the preceding two sentences were responsible for crushing Ebola, and they had identified around 160 potential sources for pandemics. Trump gutted our defenses against pandemics and he did so because Obama set it up, and there is one thing that the vindictive Trump wants to do, and that is tear down all of Obama’s accomplishments. Obama also had Congress provide funding for the design of machinery needed to produce N95 masks at an extremely high rate during a pandemic. Those designs were provided to the Trump administration in 2018, and Trump did absolutely nothing with them. Trump was provided with intelligence from multiple sources as early as last November that this virus could be devastating, and he did nothing other than play golf, hold campaign rallies and downplay the virus as a hoax. These warnings continued through January, February and March, and he continued to lie ceaselessly about the danger to the American public.

If you know someone who has died from COVID-19, it wasn’t just because of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It was because Trump refused to do his job. It is almost as if Trump unlocked and opened all the doors to your house and told criminals that their entry would not be impeded. Whether or not Trump intends evil makes little difference, because his actions and his inactions result in evil, and a difference that makes no difference is not a difference at all.
