Cuomo Swings At McConnell Again: ‘Just Give Me My Money Back, Senator’

Evidently still furious over Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) disparaging comments about “blue state bailouts,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) doubled down on his criticism. Cuomo once again pointed out that Kentucky benefits from the tax revenue New York state gives the federal government.

Cuomo’s pounding of McConnell gives me “a thrill up my leg.”

McConnell is too much of a coward to respond,he’s the modern day(don’t look behind the curtain)man. The Governor threw the first punch. And he didn’t pull it.Photo says WHAT ? Here I am.

I get a little weak in the knees, too, when he turns on the charm.

I absolutely love Cuomo rubbing it in. Kentucky is definitely a second-tier “welfare” state when it comes to tax distribution. If anything, blue states should be the ones with the irrationally intense resentment towards freeloading red states, not the opposite.

Will there be a provision for Red States to still be bailed out if Blue States have to go bankrupt ?

ETA; I also so a chart yesterday about States & how their pension funds are managed;

New York was fourth best & Kentucky was dead last.

Speaking of snake oil salesmen and media enablers.

senator’s communications director David Popp directed TPM to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt’s Washington Post op-ed,

Why does the WAPO enable these gross, lying, disinformation spewing, propagandizing charlatans and miscreants? Democracy dies in broad daylight.

The actual relationship between the blue and red states – one where the red states are dependent on blue state dynamism and wealth – ought to be the source of public discussion. A casual glance at things like life expectancy, GDP, educational achievement, drug and alcohol abuse, and teen childbirth, suggests that one group’s policies produce better citizens than the other’s.

We know Trump doesn’t understand that the blue states tend to be the economic drivers of our economy. He needs New York, California, etc. to get the economy moving again. Mississippi, Alabama, Kansas, etc. are not going to get the job done.

While Trump doesn’t get it, surely McConnell does. Do your job Mitch!

A fucking reptile. Reminds me of that old James Mason flick Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Just before they got back to the surface, Our Heroes were beset by reptiles, one of which just glared, motionless, while the most out-of-tune tuba I have ever heard in my life did justice to his evil spirit.

That’s Moscow McConnell:

Reptilian sadist.

“Good, pass a bill allowing states to be bankrupt,” Cuomo declared. “And then let’s watch how the stock market takes off…"

The GOP wants to bail out Wall Street – but force first responders into bankruptcy.

That’s a winning political message.

I can see why everyone says Republicans are such savvy communicators!

“I am all for a refund”
every resident of every state that pays more than it gets

here’s another idea:
prorate representation in the Senate so that contributing states get more influence than taker states, let the taker states pull themselves up by the proverbial bootstraps so that they can feel more fulfilled, it’ll be good for their morale, no more handouts

Krugman takes down McConnell.

Oh, and the idea that this is specifically a blue state problem is ludicrous. Fiscal crises are looming all across America, from Florida to Kansas to Texas — hit especially hard by crashing oil prices — to, yes, McConnell’s home state, Kentucky.

Yup, and Cuomo needs to go really really hard on him. It gives the rest of the Senate cover to ok the bill with aid to states and cities.

Cuomo needs to every day say “I really want McConnell to give New Yorkers back their money, we should not be sending it to Kentucky.” Start making noise about a “you get what you pay in rule” for the Federal Government. It can be called the “Moscow Mitch Fucked you Red State Takers Act”.
