“To use an overused term, we are cautiously optimistic that we are slowing the infection rate,” the governor told reporters Friday during his daily press briefing. “That’s what the numbers say, that’s what the data suggests to us.”
That is good news though the grimness of yesterday’s death toll (799) shows that Covid can be deadly and NOT a “new hoax” to be wished away from 15 infections to zero by April! Understandably, the death toll has a lag but NY has started digging mass graves in Hart Island. RIP to those NYers who has lost their lives to Covid.
As an aside, note that as of Apr 9th per Worldometers.info, US is the #1 in the amount of Total Testing BUT note that it ONLY tested approx 0.30% of every 1M Population unlike UAE or Australia which has tested approx 10.11%+ and 3.92% of 1M population respectively.

In other words, the policies taken in New York and other deep blue states are actually working. But these dumb fuck Republicans refuse to recognize that and are going to re-infect us. Unfortunately, the coronavirus doesn’t recognize red state vs. blue state.

He’ll both attack Cuomo, for not doing enough AND take credit for everything that NY did to flatten the curve so that … wait for it … we can all go back to work and open up the economy in three weeks (maybe two … we’ll see what happens).

And we can all see it coming a mile away: All the press, all the talking heads are now trumpeting the awesomeness of a “slowing down of death”. Success is now defined as, “Gee we thought 200,000 people would die, now it’s down to 60,000. It’s a resounding victory.”. The god damn press should be saying, “Trump predicted 15 cases would disappear to zero. The rising count is over 500,000 with 20,000 dead in the US.” But of course, the big story is a slowing death rate. And we wonder why Trump will be re-elected. He’ll be hailed as a hero who prevented what might have been 500,000 US deaths. Other than that, Ms. Lincoln, wasn’t it a great play…and your tickets were comped!
