New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Thursday had choice words for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and other Republican governors as coronavirus cases in several states spike.

A friend who lives in Jacksonville replied to an email telling me that DeSantis is changing Floridas state motto to "We put the duh in Florida."
Cuomo brings the heat and I am here for it.

When they use “rips” in the headline, it’s usually a let down when you read the article. This was pretty good, though!
Let’s be clear, DeSantis lied and people died. But ultimately he is just a deacon in the Trump death cult which has already taken, quite avoidably, the lives of at least 100,000 Americans.
Politicians of all persuasions need to can the “until we have a vaccine” business, and level with people about just what a devious virus this is. In many respects, the H1N1 Spanish flu virus was much more mundane than this SARS-CoV-2 guy. It is becoming endemic, yet most people have yet to go through the very risky experience of exposure and infection. And the only way to avoid that is suppression, suppression, suppression.
I see on Twitter many going after Cuomo on this because of all the deaths in NY (mostly in April & early May). This is a BS comparison because the virus was spreading here in February & March with everything open. Gov Cuomo led the state and kept things closed to keep the numbers down.
On Wednesday, Florida recorded more than 5,500 single day coronavirus cases. On average, Florida recorded over 3,000 cases per day in the past week.
Bravo DeSantis for killing your voter base!

Cuomo is right to be incensed. And I appreciate his effort to have people self-quarantine coming into NY, CT, and NJ, but how exactly does that work? And will imbeciles from the red states actually do it? Of course not. Thanks again, FatAss.
Oh, and OT: Trump is planning a huge fireworks display at Mt. Rushmore, which is illegal.
When New York’s crisis was unfolding, DeSantis decided to be a (expletive-deleted) by trying to blame New Yorkers for Covid-19 while Florida stayed open for spring break.
Although Cuomo has a valid reason for ordering the quarantine, he probably doesn’t regret providing a bit of payback to DeSantis and other Republicans that tried to portray Covid-19 as New York’s unique self-inflicted disaster.
I wish we had Cuomo’s fire on the House Judiciary Committee.
