Cuomo Rejects Trump’s Claim To Have Total Authority To Reopen States: ‘We Don’t Have A King’

There is some debate as to whether we have a (legitimate) president.

They have always lacked the imagination of foreseeing the unintended consequences of their actions. And the year is 2020 FFS.

Being the Commander-in-Chief Trump will announce Cuomo is being court martialed. He’ll announce at a task force presser. He can do that. They’re writing a paper on it right now. All kinds of papers are being written, about a lot of things. Article 2 things especially.

I think California and New York have enough economic might to get him (the Asshole in Chief) to back down.

Cuomo can just shut down buildings if he wants, post cops to disallow entry, etc. The last thing some large business in the middle of NYC needs is 50 lawsuits for COVID deaths from people forced to return to work despite the governor’s and mayor’s shut down orders. They won’t do it. The medical and scientific grounds are too widely known and public and they’d be destroyed by experts on the stand. I just don’t see it happening. The most I can see them doing is telling people it’s voluntary to return to work now that POTUS has argle-bargled…with a big WINK WINK attached to the “voluntary”… but even that’s a huge risk. Juries would eat them alive.

You left out a word in your headline… FIFY

We Don’t Have a King YET

But tRump, Mitch and the guys on the SC, are conspiring to give us one.

“We’re going to move very strongly…” What does that even mean? It’s scary the way that Trump’s verbal ticks–the stalker / harasser / domestic abuser language he employs when pushed–have infiltrated the minds of his supporters today.

You can’t force people to work. Period. (For example, you can’t specifically enforce an employment contract, among other things.)

Love this point. Workers aren’t domestic servants bound to their masters any more.

That’s the sexual predator in him speaking.

I paid $1.37 per gallon last Sunday and the gas station was almost empty of other customers.

If he thinks he’s going to force this state, or any state for that matter, to do something that is reckless or irresponsible, that could endanger human life, literally,…

That would be a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and of international law, and would justify the immediate removal of Donald Trump by any means necessary.

Nah. Companies have an obligation to ensure a safe workplace, and just because King Dumbass screams “back to work!” doesn’t mean companies will override their governors. Not sure how, legally, they would be able to. Even in states where the governors green-light it, if the CDC says otherwise, most companies will maintain WFH. Businesses like restaurants that DO open would find out quickly how the 7 MAGAs that eat there each day do not pay enough to keep them open.

Fitting that a virus named after a Mexican beer is kicking his ass here.

Haven’t you heard? Working is “cool” again.

“If he pushed it to that absurd point, then we would have a problem,” Cuomo replied

He’s gonna push it to that absurd point. It’s his obscene orange brand.

Oh. Yeah. Right. Silly me. America is great again, too! {Searches frantically for meds.}

This is basically an accurate assessment of Andrew Cuomo, who has been a shitty Dem for many years and embraced a GOP minority takeover of the state legislature until all his conserva-Dem allies got their evil asses primaried in 2018.
