I would say that Andrew found Trump’s remarks disconcerting.:face_with_monocle:

Bad move, Andrew.

Instead of getting all blustery, point out Donnie’s weaknesses. That it’s laughable for a known fraud to tell ANYONE how to manage law enforcement. That he encourages people to commit crimes. That he lies like the rest of us breathe.

Oh he will, timing is everything.

I know people are saying that what Cuomo said was over the line. I don’t particularly care. I think it may be useful. What Trump is doing is putting in place a process to break up the union. It’s only by strong resistance can we stop it. Cuomo is saying that Trump’s move to single out states or regions for punishment is anti-constitutional. Therefore, Trump deserves no grant of legitimacy. People are afraid of strong language in politics, or moves like prosecuting elected officials b/c of some odd notion of preserving institutional stability. You preserve institutional stability by forcing accountability. No one person can be bigger than the state or the institution.

responding to Trump’s threats with an empty threat makes one look weak. Trump’s not going to go to NYC, and Cuomo knows it.

Agreed. Not least because it will immediately elicit hysterical (and un-Constitutional, and therefore additionally-impeachable) Twitter rants from the C-in-C (Coward in Chief).

For somebody from Queens, Fat Don sure doesn’t know how to be tough.

Trump needs to know that it is not just in NY where he is considered persona non-grata…except for the red states & despotic countries, Trump is persona non grata worldwide!

In as much as Trump is an abomination as a POTUS, he is enabled by the Republicans and its base!

It is certainly American to clutch pearls at Cuomo’s language while handwaving away Trump’s actions, isn’t it.

This isn’t at all over the line compared to the things the monster in the White House has actually done.

Too angry to comment…

Trump has relied on institutional integrity for his entire presidency. He probably cannot even spell the term, but his lizard brain knows that he can have institutional protection that Michael Corleone never had.

Or, for that matter, Trump himself before 1/20/2017

Am I mistaken here or is Coumo calling out Trump for defunding the police?

It’s the end of the fiscal year. There’s almost no federal funds left to allocate. This is use it or lose it time In the federal government. Trump’s edict is meaningless kabuki.

I must point out, and I am confident you are aware of this extreme stupidity from the DoJ, that there is a legal immunity memo for a POTUS that puts that person beyond the law. To me that is the beginning of breaking the union that your rightly point out. The “logic” behind this memo is seriously lacking (to be polite).
Here is the stupid memo…

“In 1973, the Department of Justice concluded that the indictment and criminal prosecution of a sitting President would unduly interfere with the ability of the executive branch to perform its constitutionally assigned duties, and would thus violate the constitutional separation of powers. No court has addressed this question directly, but the judicial precedents that bear on the continuing vaUdity of our constitutional analysis are consistent with both the analytic approach taken and the conclusions reached. Our view remains that a sitting President is constitutionally immune from indictment and criminal prosecution.”

I believe this quote should be attributed to Cuomo, not Trump.

Trump received 22% of the vote in Queens and 10% in Manhattan. It’s obvious the entire family is not wanted here. Well there are parts of Staten Island.
