This isn’t ignorance, Cruz knows what the Paris Agreement is about. He also knows that the Base are a bunch of ignorant dumbasses easily led by a simple turn of phase, especially if they can chant it
more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh

Reports confirm that Cruz is not stupid. But he is (a) craven; (b) wildly arrogant; ( c) six times less smart than he thinks he is.
You can’t fix stupid, but at least you can undstand it and even forgive it, However, cruz isn’t stupid so he is being wilfully ignorant and playing a game to rouse the rabble. THAT is neither understandable nor forgiveable. Let’s all hope that the next time he’s up Texas comes to its senses and kicks him to the curb (and I might suggest where they could aim the kick
