Days after meeting with leaders of the so-called “People’s Convoy” alongside Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) got in on the largely uneventful action on Thursday morning, riding shotgun in the lead truck of the convoy as it circled the Capital Beltway on its fourth day of protesting COVID-19 measures.
He is not the brightest.

I can tell you from personal, professional interaction with Ted is that he’s quite smart. His problem is that he thinks everyone else is dumb, so he’s always playing down to that level.
“What the men and women want here is for the government to leave you the hell alone. … That is the most American sentiment you could imagine,” Cruz said, according to the Washington Post.

He is indeed a loathsome, thoroughly unlikable creature, but he’s playing the role of a smart guy talking to dumb people.
Cruz seems desperate to me. A bit like Trump trying to be relevant but failing because no one is paying any attention to him or the trucker protest. With all of the pain and suffering happening in Ukraine these trucker grievances are pathetic.
There is no clearer sign of the failure of the AstroTurf “trucker” protest (over what, one must ask?) than “Ted” Cruz being involved.

Riding shotgun in a semi is the closest Ted probably gets to exercising his second amendment rights. It’s kind of pathetic watching him try to act manly, or what his perception of manliness is.
All this whining about personal health descions will play really well in a campaign…the pro -choice people finally have CRUZ speaking up for them, lets get it on!!!
The article did not say if Cruz got to touch the steering wheel or blow the horn.
I mean they let me and other kids do that at the state fair when I was 5, so hopefully Teddy got at least that out of it.
grown men whining about getting vaxxed…Ukrainian women and babies have taken to the road to just survive…what has happened to Republican men…have they all been emasculated… it might be time to get of that big truck and face the real world
