Cruz Bravely Addresses Trump’s Tweets: ‘I Wish He Would Say Things Differently’ | Talking Points Memo

I have stopped reading sarcasm into any TPM bylines. TPM publishes way too many pieces that give douchebags like Cruz a flyer for being incapable of standing up for the values that make this nation great. @KateRiga does not do sarcasm very well, it would require a little more poking in the article to be effective.

Ted: He said the right things the wrong way. Words have consequences, and I wish POTUS had chosen his consequences better.

Sadly, it’s not just kids who’ve been given permission by the president to do these things and it’s not just about racism. Trump has given a certain segment of the population permission to basically ignore all the social constructs from attacking people they disagree with, to ignoring property rights, trashing the environment.

And beyond sad, is the frightening reality that most of them are gun nuts willing to take up arms to defend their right to be selfish and xenophobic pricks.

The struggle continues, eh Ted?

So sad to have no power or privilege, no character or core beliefs anymore … to have no balls to really stand up to the former reality TV show host and conman from Queens.

Every current elected Republican from Congress to City Council is now owned by Trump. He is them and them are he. So don’t vote for any Republican anywhere for any office. They have to learn the hard way.

Profiles in courage, Republican edition.

Once upon a time Cruz was able to tell it.

“This man is a pathological liar, he doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies … in a pattern that is straight out of a psychology text book, he accuses everyone of lying,” Cruz said as Indiana voters headed to cast their ballots.

“Whatever lie he’s telling, at that minute he believes it … the man is utterly amoral,” Cruz told reporters. “Donald is a bully … bullies don’t come from strength they come from weakness.”
