Since he is apparently smart then one would think that he would be able to see that continuing to be the asshole he is isn’t getting him anywhere. IF he was really smart he’d change the way he does things but all he has changed is his facial hair and his pants size.

Self-awareness isn’t one of his strengths, and being an arrogant prick has taken him pretty far. Goddamn, we came so close to taking him out in 2018 . . .
Speaking of which, Beto was on Pod Save America yesterday, and he pointedly did not rule out running for governor next year. So maybe there’s still some hope there.

Yeah you can be intelligent and even have decent intentions and still be an evil fuck if you have no self-awareness. And yeah he has managed to get himself into the US Senate, barely. And barely stays there and it makes me crazy every time I think about how close Beto came.

Having Beto at the head of the ticket would certainly help get rid of Patrick, Paxton, and the odious Sid Miller too. 2022 is a non-presidential election year, but Joe Biden still got 600k more votes in Texas than Abbott did in 2018,

We need to define the “ACA multiplier” to estimate how many Republican votes will be obtained for each amendment or revision they propose that is adopted,
As I recall that was more than 100 such change at Republican insistence - precise number is not that important since the numerator of that fraction is zero.
