Well, that explains that. Much like Georgia.

I’m thinking that Trump and his cronies are trying to figure out how to seize the assets of the dead for being so disloyal by dying, and creating this huge image problem for them.

First Georgia manipulated the data to justify prematurely reopening, now Florida. Texas so far seems to be reporting the massive escalation in COVID-19 cases. Maybe they will hide the data.

All we know for sure is the pandemic won’t stand any chance of abating until the Trumpvirus is eradicated by the voters in November.

All this does nothing but cast doubt on any positive claim a GOP source can make. Swift was right, lying not only wrongly misinforms people, it subverts all of communication, makes it harder for it to accomplish its purpose.

Florida is America’s Belarus.

Thought so…it is only a matter of time before what Florida and other Red States are doing is widely exposed.

Guess Florida has too many snowbirds and they’re trying to really thin the flock…

For an overhyped hoax, a lot of work goes into covering up this disease’s impact. We have to mangle data (my favorite being this: https://crooksandliars.com/2020/05/georgia-republicans-edit-graph-lie-about) and grant immunity to employers all for a disease that isn’t really hurting anyone at all.

No surprise at all

I guess it goes without saying, but if you’re a Floridian, it’s time for an email/telephone/letter-writing/website-posting/telegram/messenger-pigeon assault on your state reps. Apparently the GOP deathcult will stop at nothing to hold on to power.

Here’s my go-to source in Texas. It’s a ‘dashboard’ sort of site, like the one Florida shut down.

That didn’t take long.

It was clear over the weekend that Republican governors were ‘under orders’ to manipulate the data to prove it was OK to reopen.

I’m not sure the public is going to be persuaded but the confused messaging is going to kill people.

BTW my own county was listing the number of cases on its health department website early on and then stopped. You can get the information elsewhere but I was struck by that.

Can one train a messenger pigeon to precisely drop their load on a specific target?

As a word of caution, I would not expect the new team to continue the same level of accessibility and transparency that I made central to the process during the first two months,” the data scientist added. “After all, my commitment to both is largely (arguably entirely) the reason I am no longer managing it.

She is a hero.

She has “only” an undergraduate education and she’s quite young, having left school less than a decade ago.

(The photograph is recent – and it does not do justice to her courage.)
