There is new reporting in The Hill today that suggests that the threat of primary challengers against Senate and House Republicans who don’t keep their heads down amid Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s assault on the federal government is very much alive and well — and that the threat is acutely felt by the senators…
Self-preservation skills at their worst. These Senators don’t deserve new terms because they are not fulfilling their oaths of offices and protecting the Constitution. So there.
Adopt a senior shelter cat today!
And now this:
Not just the automotive industry, but major construction, beer and soda cans……
MAGA is gonna love this.
Have these invertebrates forgotten that none of trump’s preferred candidates won elections?
Aluminum foil. Plain old aluminum foil will cost at least 25% more soon enough.
MAGAT tin foil hats will therefore be more expensive . . .
The GOP is shaking in their boots? They need to lose their re-election. They are not fit to stand up to what is their constitutional job.
Gaetz must have some scary skeletons in his closet. Moreso than any of the other nominees to Cabinet positions. He certainly seems to have made enemies inside his own party.
Cowed Republican Senators Now Worried About Primary Challenges Backed By Trump OR Musk
These “cowed Republican senators” are true Profiles in Scourge.
Whether they like it or not!
Hello GOP, just a quick note. You created this. See what happens when you don’t tax billionaires? You are now seeing what unchecked wealth can do to people like you. Doesn’t help that you gave them all the power, they’re not going to be grateful and nice to you. Maybe you should just enforce the law.
This will encourage recycling all of those beer cans and Plymouth Dusters rusting in the front yard.
Boo f’ing hoo. Grow a spine, or find a real job.
The simple truth: If Musk/Trump aren’t stopped, then Congress becomes nothing more than window dressing for a dictatorship. And really, how important is to hold a seat in a legislative body that’s little more than a rubber stamp?
Simple truth 2: Musk/Trump are already putting plans in motion that will wreak havoc even (or maybe especially) in red states, and have a fair shot at destroying the economy within 2, or certainly 4 years. What makes these people think they can hold their seats when the country’s in tatters and voters are mightily pissed off?
Continuing to back Trump is a sucker’s bet. But they are Republicans after all, so…
Yep. Tie that to the execrable Citizens United decision, and it leads inexorably to…right here, right now.
Their tactics have a natural flaw. They are assuming that the public agrees with them. This assumption is probably true, right now. The people of America have shown their opinion in the last election, God help us all. However, opinions change. The way we win against the tactic of threatening to primary Republicans is to push the entire country to the left as much as we possibly can.
I fully realize I am expressing hope and what really feels like a hopeless situation.
ultrawealthy donors and grassroots activists [funded by ultrawealthy donors] could mount formidable primary challenges to punish perceived disloyalty.
Party above all, Republicans believe. Allegiance to America comes in a distant second.
Wait, third. Hold on…
I strongly insist that they don’t care what the public thinks. As long as the big money is available, they will dance to the tune of the benefactor. The voter is a relic.
Beats working for a living… *&^%$#@!
