Rounding the corner of the hoax. Thank, FSM…

Apparently we’re #1.

I’m tired of all this winning.

I thought we wouldn’t be talking about Covid after November 3. a. Oh, the virus doesn’t give a shit about Trump.

Or we should protect the most at risk as we let the virus wash over America. Oh, the virus doesn’t give a shit about Scott Atlas.

This is, and will always be, the Trumpandemic. We may not have failed the election test, but we have surely failed the IQ test.

Honest to God. The news of the new vaccine (Yeah, Pfizer!) is GOOD news but as per usual Donnie had to step on his … whatever. First off his WH takes ‘credit’ and Pfizer has to say ‘uh no, we didn’t sign your funky paper or take your money but we’ll sell you 100,000,000 doses’ and then Donnie, true to form, rushes into the breach to accuse Pfizer of ‘withholding’ the news until after the election because they are partisan hacks.

Trump couldn’t care less. He’s survived and he’s ‘immune,’ so obviously it’s a huge hoax. The only thing that matters to him is all those terrible illegal votes.
Ya gotta love the fact that the virtuous Pennsylvania poll watcher paraded in Philadelphia turns out to be a convicted sexual offender (against children, no less) who is a perennial candidate for offices in New Jersey. I wonder if Barr’s DOJ will be taking a look.

10 days after Halloween.

Thanksgiving’s gonna be lit.

This is a rolling fucking disaster and it’s far from over.
How anyone could have voted, or continues to militate, for returning the individual most singly responsible for the scope of the pandemic to office eludes my understanding.
It’s daft.

Meantime, this is below the fold because numnuts can’t accept reality. We still have to wait until January to get any real leadership on this. What will the numbers be then???

I continue to hope against reality that the virus will “target” those who consider it phony, e.g. white Republicans.

as the nation’s ability to combat the virus spirals further out of control

In the same way Trump takes credit for a strong economy, Biden will get credit for a healthy population.

The only difference is Joe will have actually done something to stop the pandemic.

Terribly sad, but no surprise at all.

When people talk about the “Trump Legacy” from his presidency, this non-response to the pandemic should be the very first thing that you see in the history books. And, yes, I realize that this atrocity will be at the head of a very long, atrocious, list (though his sadism at the border is a very close second, only because it has resulted in far fewer deaths).

73% in a month is probably about 15% a week. So a rise to 75,000 is probably implied in the current set of new infections. And unless red-state governors and legislatures get their acts together, 100K by mid-december and 150K by the new year. Except for the places that don’t have any spare beds.

How about a shout if you heard or read somebody make the absurd assertion that the the virus would " disappear" after the election…Trump is responsible for the politicization of this medical calamity and thousands of deaths associated with it…

A couple of weeks ago, my sibs and I acknowledged that we would not be travelling across state lines to see each other over the holidays, making this the first time since I, the youngest, was born we haven’t been together for Christmas (I missed a few Thanksgivings here and there).

In a few weeks, all of the MAGA mouthbreathers who refuse to wear masks and swagger around like it makes them heroes, unafraid of any ol’ disease because they don’t have the first goddamn clue how bad COVID-19 is, are going to render that sacrifice meaningless. They’ll travel and congregate, hug and kiss, laugh and eat in snug, warm rooms. And by January, if not December, doctors across the nation are going to be triaging people who otherwise could have been saved for lack of beds, ventilators, staff, and supplies to save them. Most of them will blame Biden and the MSM will cooperate.

One of the worst things Trump and right wing media, abetted by the slap-dash context free coverage of the real media, have done is leave people without a complete understanding of what we’ve learned about COVID over the last year. Most have no conception of how every time we find out something new, it’s terrible. They don’t know we’ve come to realize it’s a vascular rather than a lung disease, that it leaves survivors brain damaged, causes early onset dementia in many, has resulted in children losing their permanent teeth and older people with disabilities that will have economic and health care repercussions for years to come.

Once all the MAGAQ’s who think COVID is just a bad cold that’s less dangerous than the flu get done travelling across the nation to pack themselves into each other’s houses for the holidays, hug, kiss and, for all I know, spit into each other’s mouths to Own the Libs? My guess is that by January, doctors will be black-tagging people in triage due to lack of beds, staff and supplies.

Bookmark that. Hang it around their thick red necks. The coming coronavirus spike stacked with the regular flu season is going to be very very bad indeed.

Don’t let ‘em dodge responsibility for it.

I’m thinking that will happen before January. Thought I heard somewhere that El Paso can’t find enough mobile morgue trucks? I feel like we’re at the “mushroom cloud” point in this pandemic.
