For the last several months, Republicans have been perpetuating the false narrative that non-citizens are illegally voting en-masse on behalf of Democrats this cycle, as Donald Trump and his supporters manufacture voter fraud hysteria that they can point to if they lose next week. Republican state officials across the country have bolstered this effort by…
The timing isn’t just to sow distrust, it’'s also to confront eligible voters with “facts on the ground” where they find out their registration has been purged too late to do anything about it. Maybe cast a provisional ballot at best.
One reason why the GOP does not want non-citizens to vote.
From our son, a reason to move if things go to hell next Tuesday:
Also from our son, a reason to ponder. The sun at high noon in Helsinki yesterday:
This thing they do where they toss all the chips in the air to win right before the election and then shrug when it turns out 3 months later that what they did was illegal has become SOP for Republicans. It makes me crazy that this seldom, if ever, results in a readjustment to fairness.
If Dems were going to steal elections, would they not think to steal ALL the elections at the federal level? This obvious point has never been explained to me, probably because the “stealing” isn’t occurring (from the Dem side at least).
From the picture I thought that was a reason to drink
NPR reported yesterday afternoon that The Washington Post has lost more than 200,000 subscription in the backlash against owner Jeff Bezos’ last minute intervention ending the Post’s policy of endorsing presidential candidates.
You want to hit Jeff Bezos where he lives cancel your Amazon Prime subscription.
It was our daughter-in-law’s birthday lunch. Not that you really need any special reason to drink.

No matter what happens, the unlimited-money-fueled shit-throwing machine will still be there.
Sanctioning some lawyers for filing frivolous lawsuits would seem to be warranted.

She agrees with Trump’s unfounded claims that Democrats are opening the borders to allow noncitizens to vote, fearing that it could ultimately cost him the election.
Howard-Elley didn’t pay much attention when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott helped fuel that narrative by announcing that the state had removed thousands of supposed noncitizens from its rolls, claiming some had a history of voting.
Then the U.S. citizen learned she was among them.
She didn’t realize her registration was canceled until reporters called her this month.
She got back on the rolls, thanks to the Biased Media, who kept asking questions.
Sanctioning a shit ton of lawyers for filing frivolous lawsuits would seem to be warranted.
Don’t mind if I do!
“And it seems to be driving towards a different narrative, which is election denial, which is trying to give the impression that there are problems so that it can be used to challenge election results they don’t like.”
If I were a cynic I would think that the ballot hijacking in Colorado and the ballot drop box sabotage in Oregon and Washington were attempts by supporters of a certain candidate to create real problems with the election that would then be used by that candidate to challenge the results. That would give the Supreme Court a case of first impression where it could write another “decision for the ages.”
That would make it too obvious, you see.
Never too late to take up a new hobby.
On the local WA and OR Sinclair Teevee stations the comment threads lean incredibly MAGAt. So of course they blamed the arsons on Antifa and social justice protests.
This is a real headline. Really right now. Really on the Washington Post. Really by Hugh Hewitt (I would have guessed Thiessen … but)
There are so many amazing columnists and journalists at the Post, it’s such a shame.
And no, I did not even read the first paragraph, but as per the usual went right for the comments:
