This is a weird fucking comment. Winning is necessary to have any kind of influence, as you might note from the fact that the country is heading downhill fast while we control zero branches of govt. At the same time, I don’t know of any democratic schemes to prevent ANY voting bloc from voting like we see from repubs.

they have proven that what they care about is making money and retaining power; they don’t care about the American people on the same scale.
I reject outright that Biden lusted for power and money. He shouldn’t have run in the 2024 primaries, but I think he did it thinking he could save the US from Trump. That certainly speaks to his failure to understand his own political problems, but I don’t think he was power hungry per se.
As an American retired in France, I note that today is the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII. Most shops - though not all - are closed here today. Some of us still remember the catastrophe that authoritarian governments visited on the world in the last century (even if the US press mostly ignored it).
And hundreds of thousands of Americans died fighting it. This is the cemetery of the American dead above Omaha Beach, at Colleville-sur-Mer.
Had high hopes for the new Covid/Flu vaccine by Moderna that was announced. They are seeking FDA approval for it. Then I came across this, which I have to say was almost predictable at this point seeing how its no longer the same fully functioning FDA we’re used to having. They already had a trade deficit with the US, the UK has very little exports that Americans want to buy. That country lives off the all the money laundering that goes on in the City of London.
Not sure what win are they going to give Trump they will probably agree to lift restrictions to American agricultural products, like hormones in chicken and that kind of things.
No matter what, this is no “deal” it is the UK caving to a shakeout, the Brits are going to regret their cowardice as Trump will come with new demands in a few months, to make up for his lack of progress against China and others.
People rightly regard Trump a bigger threat than Terrorist, not the kind of SOB you should be inviting to see the king.
Republican senator who is 100% on board with raising the debt limit by 5 trillion to justify 5 trillion in tax cuts for billionaires is VERY concerned about states using funding provided by congress for non-billionaires.
