The Census Bureau sent out new guidance to its regional directors after a federal judge temporarily stopped the Trump administration from “winding down or altering any census field operations,” according to a Tuesday court filing.
Let me guess.
The new guidance requires all census documents to be delivered by boat.
It’s hard to imagine any previous president, even the most criminal or incompetent, suing to make sure that basic government functions are damaged or fail. To a man, they all intended for the government to do the basics the way they were supposed to with respect to the law, even if they might disagree on interpretations none of them would have gone as far as to do something like shut the Census down before it was completed. And it’s not just Trump, it’s the Republican party that has gone down this road…they have really given up on having a functional government by and for the people, in favor of one where they hold the power and get to dictate to and take advantage of the people. We’re actually fortunate that their leader is such a caricature of a bumbling buffoon…if they had a competent version of Trump we would be in far greater danger.
