The Temple has a school, and the bee hives were so the kids could learn about bees and honey. And one of their religious observances has honey playing a part in the celebration.

If I’m reading that right, they have to surrender the guns they waved at people. They get to keep their other guns, or buy more. I have to say, as deterrents go, there are few more impressive than that.

Here’s something that puzzles me:
If I stalk through the aisles at the local grocery store wearing samurai armor and holding a sword – and the police detain me to find out what is going on – no one will come to my aid.
But if I do the same thing in ballistic armor holding an AR-15 – and the police detain me to find out what is going on – politicians will come out of the woodwork to help me defend my rights.
Of course, I don’t want to do either of these things – but is it perplexing. I guess we worship at the alter of the gun.
