Conway Deflects Trump War Crime Question | Talking Points Memo

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway failed to offer a direct response when asked whether President Trump “believes that war crimes are a thing” during a press availability Monday at the White House.

KAC is struggling with this because she knows what was said and it is not possible to spin it. I do enjoy to see her tied up in knots.

Towards the end of the presser Conway’s composure wore thin and she implied if everyone didn’t just STFU maybe the Louvre was getting the fuck blown to hell!

I’m glad the media is asking but I would love to hear more push back on the “representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago” line Trump used. Military strikes are supposed to be strategic. Using any force like Trump says he is going to in a symbolic manner is what terrorists do. This needs to be prodded, why he said he’s use symbolic targets and more importantly who’s idea that was, because if that person is anywhere near the military decision making process they need to be immediately removed (and we all know Trump didn’t come up with that idea by himself).

Watch Conway’s remarks via Mediaite here.

I’d really rather not…

And yet, somehow, Soleimani’s future actions were not hypotheticals. Right.

Kellyanne the Conway is grasping at straws more frantically than Belle of the Bawl Ms. Lindsay the Graham Cracker at a felching party.

The more I know how objectively false and probably also dishonest was that anonymous op-ed that claimed to represent adults in the room who’d stop The Rump from doing his worst, the more I like spokes harpy KAC for the author.

Conway hit back by asking Feinberg if he wanted to “talk about hypotheticals that may happen” instead of talking “about the fact that Soleimani” is dead.

Though the assassination is on account of the '01 and '02 AUMF’s, I just want someone to ask ‘1600’ if state sponsored killings (retaliatory and preemptive) of state actors is now copacetic.

It’s only fair.

Bombing ancient cultural sites is OK, but engaging in hypotheticals…now that’s a true crime!

Not to be a jerk (which I am) but Obama did the same thing. He just chose targets — two of which (Anwar_al-Awlaki and his son Abdulrahman al-Awlaki) were American citizens — that generated less backlash.

Al-Maliki was non state.

Is she really this dumb or does she just play the dumb blonde on TV because there aren’t enough of them on Faux News getting the word out? No. That can’t be it.

In any case, there really is no bottom to how low she will go to defend tRump. This woman can’t answer shit even if she tried. She can’t and won’t look past her own nose because she knows everything she says will be contradicted by tRump minutes, hours or days later, just like everyone else that works for tRump…so I take it, why bother. tRump or someone just pushes her out there and she lets the lies and deflections flow like water.

I still say her husband can rail about how the Constitution is being negated by tRump, and how tRump’s inappropriateness and ineptness in office is beyond a problem, but there’s gotta be some kind of deal with the devil (if there is such a thing) that keeps these two together in such diametrically opposed positions.

One of them says tRump is the best thing since sliced bread and the other says he will be the death of democracy as we know it if allowed to get away with his criminality which continues to be ongoing. So it really goes beyond ideology between these two, or maybe even staying together for the children’s sake at this point. Its gotta be something one of them has on the other. I apologize in advance if I’ve offended anyone but its just too weird for me to comprehend in a big picture sense.

All I know is she needs to be ignored and her bullshit not repeated unless its through mockery or straight up denunciation. She intentionally works as a tRump propaganda minister of sorts…and not a very good one at that.

Thanks TPM for not falling for it, but can we quit having articles about her? There’s gotta be something else happening in the country that is more important to report on than what this woman lies about in service to this megalomaniac.

I wonder if anyone has told Trumpy that there about 10,000 Jews that live in Iran?
I wonder if Trumpy knows that there are a few Americans held in custody in Iran?
I wonder if the surviving Americans that were held hostage in Iran like that they’re being used by Trumpy?

He was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico; his son in Denver. How does that make them “non-state”? Moreover, they were both identified at the time as American citizens.

The problem that I have with Al-Maliki, is that it’s hard to for me to have sympathy for a guy who was looking for a hard end.

Should we be in that part of the world? It depends

Howeva, unless you can come up with a better idea of solving guys going to jihad (example), I’m all ears.

Me? A better idea?* Surely you jest. You know me better than that!

I will add, however, that he was never suspected or accused of committing a terrorist act; just fomenting jihad (read: hate speech) against the US.
