Constitutional Sheriffs Group Plans To Insert Itself Into More Aspects Of The Voting Process In 2024

On Tuesday afternoon, the CEO of MyPillow Mike Lindell, along with a cadre of election deniers, spoke in front of a crowd of what organizers boasted could be over 800 people at the Ahern Hotel in Las Vegas, during an all-day event hosted by the far-right Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.

Are the Constitutional Sheriffs a perfomrnace artist group for the press or do they actually do shit?

If they just wouldn’t vote, we wouldn’t have to flip their ballots to Biden.

The movement … maintains that sheriffs hold supreme law enforcement authority in the country, and that sheriffs, not federal or state law enforcement, have the ultimate authority to reject enforcement of federal law

Police Alliance For Overthrowing the U.S. Government!

Maybe we shouldn’t be so cavalier about this certifiably insane cops club?

OK boys and girls, a virtual donut to the winner, which word, sheriff or god, is used most often in the Constitution?

Not sure that’s ever been investigated. The Legal Defense Fund has asked the DOJ to do so under Title VI protocols for federal funding

Khaya Himmelman probably meant to say “became a tenet of the MAGA right” rather than “tenant” in the third paragraph.

Nevertheless, important article.

They are really the Constipational Sheriffs and they specifically don’t do shit.

No mention of God or Sheriff in the Constitution

“Constitutional Sheriffs”

Talk about an unintentionally ironic name.

Nothing in the Constitution supports the ideas of this purposely mis-named group. Local, armed blowhards working to promote authoritarianism is a much better way to describe them. Pretty much a group of anti-Americans.

Any bets that they have overblown plans to do election security in districts not their own? I almost hope so.

THE. SHIRTS. WILL. BE. BLUE. THIS. TIME.

don’t make me come over there, discobot…

ETA: Keep in mind…all they have to do in red states with red legislatures and red judges is fuck a few thousand people out of voting or having their votes counted and there will be ZERO remedy forthcoming as the red apparatus just shrugs and says “sorry, but there’s no law that allows us to fix this and give you your vote back.”
