Does anyone know if they must first convict Trump before they can vote that he never again can hold office. I keep reading that conviction is not necessary to take the vote. ?

They came for the prizes. You know, the stupid ones.

Most of them are still proud of what they did. There are at least 600-800 people yet to be charged.

Since Trump did not issue pardons it is a sure thing he will pay for their legal expenses.

They must first convict him with a 2/3s majority vote. The removal vote (50% majority) does not happen unless he is convicted.

So, next step 14th amendment?

After the attack, on Snapchat, Felicia Konold allegedly bragged about her role.

“I never could [unintelligible] have imagined having that much of an influence on the events that unfolded today,” she allegedly said.

Fortunately they all saved up a couple hundred thousand to pay for a good criminal law firm, post bail, keep the family’s expenses paid while in prison and …
O Dear. They didn’t? Freedom is not free chumps.

I think the 2/3 conviction is the removal (from office) vote. The barring-from-future-office vote is a majority vote after conviction.

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

On topic, I hope we clear out the cages at the border quickly enough to house these “patriots” for the terms of their sentences.

Not quite like it went down in your fantasy circle jerk, eh boys? Still “Proud”?

Sorry about your leader being an FBI snitch.

You’re probably thinking of the 14th Amendment option, which would be to pass declarations in both chambers of Congress declaring that Trump is ineligible for further office because he engaged in insurrection against the United States. That would only take majority votes, but it is far from certain whether that would actually be effective, as the 14th Amendment provides no enforcement mechanism.

Yeah honey you sure fucking did it now. :joy: :joy:

You don’t really know yet just how much this can fuck up the rest of your life.

That’s what i don’t understand about this insurrection.

Whether it’s was the Upper Canada or Nat Turner’s deal, when it failed, the ring leaders didn’t run home and pretend everything was fine.

They either fled to America (the Upper Canada ringleaders) or they hid and hoped no one would betray them.

I hate this era.

Their parents must be so proud of them.

Well it’s a weird-ass “insurrection” anyway. It’s really one branch of the government trying to overthrow another, so how does it morph into a populist insurrection? The whole fucking thing was elitist to the maximum. It was the political elite vs the political elite.

And the dumbasses who did it will never understand that.

I believe they never considered the probable end game. They’re fucking idiots.
