Conservatives are showing their support for acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney following his disastrous press conference last week during which he admitted President Trump’s Ukraine quid pro quo.
a group of prominent conservatives — which include Ginni Thomas of Liberty Consulting, Tim Chapman of Heritage Action for America and David Bossie of Citizens United
When these three can be called “prominent conservatives” …
Gee, would that be the same Ginni Thomas married to that bump-on-the-log SC Justice Thomas? Of course it is.
Funny that zero elected House or Senate members, those actually voted into office (by silly bastards from red states…but that is another story, eh?) by their electorate have yet to come to the Dummy’s defense. No surprise here since as a radical 'Pub who thinks his sh@t doesn’t stink since being appointed, chops to this being temporary no less, he’s made few friends since he toes Trumpyboy’s line way too hard for their liking.
Odd too as well is the strange alliance of back-marker 'Pubs who have signed on. Heck, old Nancy Rayguns would’ve signed on a another back-bencher if she weren’t dead already!
Am I being too clever for my own good, or are they telling Donald Trump what to do secure in the knowledge that nothing riles up Big Man Donald Trump like being told what to do?
Seems like it could well be the kiss of death. They’re giving Mulvaney credit for Trump’s administration’s accomplishments! How dare they! How dare he! Off with his head!
Some of these groups are probably afraid that without Mulvaney around Trump will do something radical (like lower drug prices or cut middle class taxes) when his numbers start tanking. The “great economy” hasn’t trickled down to the actual base yet - and if Trump is nuts enough to go against conservative orthodoxy in Syria, imagine what he could do here at home to garner much needed support?
Hell, if Trump lowered payroll taxes (with some Warren-esque tax on billionaires to pay for it) and did something about lowering drug prices he’d win a hell of a lot more votes from blue collar voters than he did last time around. I am sure Javanka (who want to move back to NYC at some point) must be pushing him towards that. Not out of kindness, just necessity.
