Well, I guess that kicking out* the Birchers and other extremists fell a little too far from the tree on this one, huh?

“The alleged rioter’s great uncle is William F. Buckley, Jr., the towering conservative intellectual…”

You misspelled “pompous racist publisher”.

“[T]he White community is so entitled because for the time being, it is the advanced race.” – National Review, 1957 Editorial.

“In the Deep South the Negroes are, by comparison with the Whites, retarded…Leadership in the South, then quite properly rests in White hands.” – National Review, 1960 Editorial.

“Dr. Martin Luther King and his associates have been deliberately undermining the foundations of internal order in this country [w]ith their rabble-rousing demagoguery.” – National Review, 1965 Editorial.

Trump is the natural evolutionary product of National Review and 60 years of GOP racism.

I have no idea what these people want. I mean, not really. Or ar least not beyond a pure white America and caveman political initiatives like isolationism and no trade agreements. But, what else?

Is there anything they want that is even vaguely possible in a modern multicultural and interconnected world?

They are shoveling against the sea of anachronism. They pine for an America which has never existed outside the confines of their dreams of domination and using that myth to stir up the grievances of people genuinely left behind by the inevitable march of crony capitalism. Any target will do, but racism was there for exploitation and has been since the birth of the republic so why not harness it.

I seems to me that if they have no concrete or attainable aims, there’s nothing they can do to become viable. They can hit things with baseball bats and whine and that’s it.

America’s going to get very tired of them, maybe not in the short term, but they have a very limited shelf life.

I think that they meant glowering.

50% of America has been tired of them since the 60s, but the ridiculous distribution of income has allowed the top 0.0001%-ers to manipulate the brownshirts with false crusades about abortion, immigration, trade disadvantages, and con-servative radio the whole time.

The sad part is that the ‘root’ of this tree could be taken out over a weekend, if they’d only recognize the right targets.
