The entire
Republican side of Congress really needs to be sent back to etiquette classes. Or better still, jut sent home until they learn to act like civil adults. There is no excuse for treating a colleague like this.
I guess this bozo thinks his behavior shows how macho and smart he is. Of course in the real world it just shows that he was raised in a pig pen.

Holy Cow! The depth of the GOP’s disrespect for anyone and anything outside their allegiance is staggering!

cue the lack of civility trope from the media in 3…2…1…

The real story for years now is that the GQP is the party of thugs
bigots and bullies

What – he was restrained enough not to use the word “uppity”?

He gets Brownie Points in the GOP for this…probably more than that

Nah, it just didn’t occur to him at the time

Being a rude, condescending racist asshole is a requirement for membership in today’s GOP. His behavior is the standard M.O.

Rep. Rogers would do well to take note:

"Righteousness is a wide path. Self-righteousness is a bullhorn and a blindfold."

Unbelievable. Or not really….

Kiss my ass was an expression my dad would use back in the 70s. He’d be 85 now, if he were still alive.

I wouldn’t mind if he said it to Tim Scott and Clarence Thomas.

In the cases of these two, the rudeness would be deserved for all the damage to this country they’ve done…

The GOP censures their own for faithfully and respectfully performing their sworn duties in Congress, and yet this type of behavior earns praise from those same motherfuckers. May God smite them!

The guy is an old school southern pol. Puts his own name on infrastructure.

The old dude has been representing Eastern KY for-ever and bringing the bacon home and slapping his name on anything he can. He’s on appropriations committee and appropriates a lot of money to his district. He’s 84 and due to retire, but you won’t find a Dem to run against him anytime soon.

Rogers’ office did not immediately respond to TPM’s request for comment.

And “accuses” loses some weight. More like damn straight it happened.

Saying “uppity” might have ended abruptly, quickly, badly and violently for old Hal. This isn’t 1962, so touching a person of color and telling them to “kiss my ass” doesn’t necessarily end well and in your favor like it used to. Some these Republican Reps need to stop listening to Trump because he’s going to get someone (else) hurt, and we know he doesn’t care.
