I’m gonna throw people a bone on this one: it’s about time. This was one particular thing I was irritated they hadn’t done yet.

Yes, because doing it today would be too goddamned much trouble.

Well it gets people to talk about it multiple times, and i doubt the added day would mean much in terms of how fast this gets processed in court.

I’m sure that’s no coincidence that TPM picked that photo of Nadler looking at his watch. As are we all, Nadler. As are we all.

Dunno. Says he’s doing it today. Someone’s wrong. Go figure.

Well it says today is for getting Mueller report info and Monday is about the subpoena for Don McGahn.

Are they going to find out something Mueller didn’t?

Thanks for catching that. I was too quick to post. Nevertheless, things are moving along.

I, too, am puzzled by the pace at which many House actions are proceeding. I am hoping --naively?–that it’s intended to draw the various committee proceedings out so they are still front and center during the post-convention campaign season.

Or something like that.

Zero chance. And thanks for mentioning it because I looked right past it. Very witty use of an image.

Our unique system of government was designed by the Founders to be slow, cumbersome, and methodical.

This is moving long quite nicely by those standards.

they’re waiting until next week because the Courts are closed today or because they think the news will get lost in the Friday news dump?

Pelosi told Nadler to hold off so as not to sour Trump’s mood during his Friday flight to the country club.

I heard Nadler talking about this on the Teebee. When asked what he would do if McGahn simply ignored the subpoena he said “Well, that would be unprecedented. That we be beyond the pale.”

I guess that’s his way of saying, “I hope he plays nice because we have no enforcement mechanism in place. At least, not one that we’re willing to use.”

There is no pale anymore.
