Congress Passes Modest Gun Reform Bill

The House passed a bill aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous people Friday, a day after the Senate did so in a break from the usual Republican obstruction of even the mildest gun reform measures.

McConnell says the quiet part out loud. He doesn’t give a rats ass about decapitated children, just enough here to take the majority.

GOP support for the deal “will be viewed favorably by voters in the suburbs that we need to regain in order to hopefully be a majority next year.”

Yet another example of why the popularity of Congress continues to be in the dumpster. Enough of these dangerous bozos would prefer that US schools be terrorized daily by gun violence rather than stop the proliferation of automatic weapons throughout US society.

The Right outdid themselves, negating this Bill.

They thought that Roe could be dismantled and that the Bill would make up for it

You make the point but nah, It does nothing but take gun control off the table in November. Dems could go all in and continue fighting the good fight for substantive gun control but they won’t, being afraid 'pubs will turn it against them. gun control and abortion rights, go all in, win the house and Senate (+2 new seats), get rid of the filibuster and ram meaningful legislation down their (Republican) fuckin throats. It is the only way.

It is something, but at this rate of progress we will achieve a normal country’s level of gun control right about when the last remaining schoolkid is shot dead.

50 Senate seats and two are against tossing the legi fili.

Also, Pelosi had already sent a pre Murphy-Cornyn bill to the Senate.

To be fair, the Regressives are trying to speed this up by also working to dismantle public education…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but why is it always public schools that get shot up?

Well, obviously shooters have to assume the kids in private school are carrying - far too dangerous…

Because the private schools screen difficult children out except for those meant to be reform schools for kids like Donald Trump.
