Six senators who voted no- taking notes for future tasks…
Repubs find fiscal responsibility?

$300 per week for jobless benefits that expires in 11 weeks. Do you know how fast 11 weeks goes by especially now? And, the infamous $600 which is about all the news contains, yes this is something but $600 after waiting for anything for months and months amounts to nothing.

IMO, What this proves is two things to the GOP:

  1. If you hold out long enough the Democrats will vote favorably on your paltry bill for the common man.

  2. The Media will never try to explain to the rubes HOW bad this really is. Of this 900 Billion, 120 Billion at a minimum will go to the Corporations and the 1%. Add this to the 1.5 Trillion tax cut that 90% of went to the Corporations and the 1%. What is never discussed is that the bulk of this money went to 1% of the population, approximately 3 million people, while the leftover went to the other approximately 300 million people. Why is this disparity not EVER made more clear?

Republican Congressional antipathy towards local and state governments is hard to figure. I guess in order to eff over large, predominantly Democratic urban centers the GOP is fine with bankrupting and impoverishing thousands of smaller cities and towns in red and purple states firmly in their column.

They’re just really horrible human beings.

I will guess 11 weeks go by in 62 days.

Being a forward looking kind of guy, I’ll invest my payment in 2 x 4s for framing, particle board and corrugated tin roofing.
It’s never too early to get started on my new home in the local McConnellville!

This is a repeat, but this showed up on the NYT briefing this morning:

David Roberts on Twitter: “Somehow the media covers the details but manages to muddy the bigger picture, which is that if Dems had their way, they’d be dumping $3 trillion into the economy. Covid aid is going to be pathetic & insufficient BECAUSE OF REPUBLICANS. That’s what they wanted & fought for!” / Twitter

I’m hearing murmurs of recall efforts here in Wisconsin. People appear to have had enough of this guy. Not sure if anything can come of it, but hey, I won’t stop them trying.

Because she knew it wouldn’t be enough and McConnell was sitting on a bill that her House passed and he refused to consider.

I’m not willing to let all the cards fall against the House. They did their jobs. The Senate did not. No both-siderism here.

McConnell wouldn’t have brought up the $1,8 Trillion offer. It was a Mnuchin promise

From the article:

Meanwhile, many Republicans who control the Senate dismissed the latest offer as too expensive.

However, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Congress is unlikely to deliver relief by November 3rd.

Maybe they want a repeat of the “emergency manager” model that took hold in Michigan ten years ago and led to the poisoning of the water supply in the town of Flint.

Now we await the FU veto and of course, Congress has run for the exits. So when the pen says no no one will be around to override until after the first. Then I’d not place bets that Congress could override, deficits matter of course. Trillions for the 1%, rotted peanuts for the other 99%.

Exactly, already spent just trying to makeup for all the missed payments.

Then we also have the deferred payments from the spring that are due “in full” come the 1st.

Just the deferred co-payments that the VA began without asking are due in full on the 1st, the $600 will just about cover that.

I haven’t heard of anyone to challenge him. Even with his craven behavior, Dems will need a strong contender.
