The crypto spend will be big, but it may be too late. In 2024, over 60% of votes were cast early or by mail, while less than 40% of people voted on election day. Ads or manipulation after the voting is done are irrelevant. It looks like Sherrod Brown is the canary in the crypto coal mine.

Bah, humbug. It’s not a real TV channel, it’s just a video feed on the X social network. To be an equivalent to Putin and Kim’s captive state media he would need talking heads presenting the news of the day like the kimono-clad women on North Korean TV, a gaggle of reporters who follow him around like the boycotting WH press pool, lackeys being interviewed, etc.
Just running old clips of his speeches isn’t going to get any interest even from his hardcore MAGA base. You’re not going to see this as a channel option on your home TV’s streaming interface as if it were Fox News or CNN. Unless he actually is going to invest in the infrastructure behind a real TV show, spend the time, money, and energy to make it happen, then it’s just another distraction.

Sept. 22 (UPI) – Belarus cannot supply the United States with large volumes of potash, its leader, Alexander Lukashenko, said, seemingly refuting U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington was in talks with Minsk to purchase the vital agricultural fertilizer.
“Even if we wanted to supply [potash] to other, Western markets, we simply do not have those volumes – everything is contracted for this year,” Lukashenko, often called Europe’s last dictator, said Monday, according to a readout from his office.

re Susan Collins: While she appears to have been engaged in criminal activity here, it seems like the easiest way to prevent this sort of shit is to ban all individuals and corporations from throwing hundreds of thousands (or hundreds of millions, in Musk’s case) into federal elections. There’s a vast trove of empirical evidence that Citizens United has been poison for our democracy; it’s time to overturn that bullshit decision (and throw at least 2 SCOTUS “Justices” out on their ears) and put some meaningful campaign finance reforms in place.

Also an excellent question. Since the whole thing is on the Supreme Court’s shadow docket, without briefing or stated reasoning, not much help there.

The [Eighth Circuit] court issued a permanent injunction that won’t go into effect until Sept. 28, allowing time for SCOTUS review.
“If the Supreme Court has not stayed or otherwise altered the permanent injunction by that time, Secretary Hoskins and all others bound by this judgment must fully implement the 2025 map for the November 2026 general election,” the order said. “The Court trusts that the Missouri Supreme Court will respect this Court’s decision under the Supremacy Clause.”
