Yeah, ol’ Clint took too many to the head back in the glory days. Of course not so many the flint-eyed, square-jawed, rock-ribbed crusader against creeping socialism that he didn’t know enough to line up at the farm subsidy trough. It’s hard to complain about the government giving away other peoples hard earned tax dollars when you’re on the receiving end, isn’t it Clint?

The Sheriff and the County Commissioner, no doubt, present their resistance, as based on conscience and principle. In this case by bravely standing up for the Constitution. Unfortunately, they don’t have the right to decide the constitutional, appropriate action; Courts do that. As for their conscience? The path of conscientious resistance to illegal orders, is resignation. If they took that step, we could admire their courage, honesty and sacrifice in the service of morality. Instead, they grandstanded and displayed their egos, their contempt for public health, and their dismissal of civil order. Fire them.

This should have been clear to the entire planet from the moment Trump was elected. I can’t feel too put out on behalf of the rest of the world. They should have realized this from the beginning. The United States can’t even provide leadership to its constituent states. Much the opposite. The Senate Majority leader says, in effect: “Drop dead and declare bankruptcy! No help coming.”
