Yeah. I’ve seen this black is white, bizarro world attitude from many Republican voters. Last week on NPR, one woman at a Covid vaccination informational gathering insisted We’re not like those Democrats. They’re motivated just by emotion. We Republicans want the facts.
And we all know what “good Christians” they are. Well, that’s what they believe.
Of course a successful pol will play to those delusions, and Sen. Collins has been very successful in doing it.

Give Suzie a break. She did not have to vote to impeach Trump. She could have said that he has finally learned his lesson. Collins could have gone the Mitch McConnell route and argued that Trump was responsible for the insurrection but that impeachment was not the right way to punish him.
There were so many excuses there and Collins did not take up any of them.
