President Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen said Friday he believes the President will “do anything and everything” to win re-election even if that means “manipulating the ballots.”
Michael Cohen is pretty much admitting that the vote tallies in the 2016 election were manipulated by Russian intelligence in exchange for money and national secrets from the Trump family.

Of course Trump would manipulate the ballots if he could. That is hard for him because he personally lacks control of the process, but that won’t stop the Russians from doing it if they can.

Is Trump going to harvest some ballots? Is he ready to get up at the crack of dawn and do a lot of back-breaking work? He doesn’t seem to be a guy who likes to work too hard or for too long at anything. That border wall is not helping get the harvest in either if you know what I mean, and you do.

Yeah, it is hard to tell. On the one hand Cohen’s comments are a no brainer. Of course Trump would manipulate the votes. Who would doubt that? But on the other hand, Cohen could be telling everyone “No really, I know firsthand that he would manipulate the votes.”
The big question is: what coordinated pushback and framing are we going to get, starting now, from the Democratic Party? The only way to prevent the chaos is to make it look like the massive, in-full-view thievery it is.
Trump will manipulate the ballots? Trump and what army? It’s not that easy with 52 states running their own individual voting systems.
Before someone jumps in with “the Russians!,” well, they would if they could, but there is no evidence I’ve seen that they actually managed to hack and change any votes in 2016. The Russian gambit to affect the vote is disinformation, it’s a lot easier. We need vigilance on this, but I don’t think the system as a whole is as easy to manipulate as some people think it is.
It’s also one reason he’s against paper ballots.

One thing that’s not well understood is that it’s misleading to say that Trump will refuse to accept an adverse result, which conjures images of a pouting child who will be disciplined by the adults. It will be much more dynamic and dangerous than that: he will announce his victory prematurely and issue executive orders to enforce his victory. He will use Barr and the DOJ to back up hIs claim and do what he has always done: take steps that we cannot foresee and can barely imagine. It will be litigious, chaotic and probably violent. It will probably require a massive show of people power to get Biden over the line.
I really look forward to Cohen’s 15 minutes being up. Is there anyone who doesn’t know that Trump will happily cook the election to win? Trump is completely unhinged and even his adoring supporters know this as this is what they like about him and no doubt pray nightly he cheats to win.
I have read this scenario (Trump declaring “victory” at 9PM on election night) forecast by many experts. I hope the lawyers on our side are amassing …
