DeSantis is acting like a Mini-Covidiot-Trump…worried about “his numbers” but refusing to issue a statewide stay-at-home order or close the beach! Covid HYPOCRITE!

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday that the state’s healthcare system is stretched too thin to take on the coronavirus caseload from the Zaandam.

Whose fault is that … Ron?

For most of the South Florida’s cruise ships, that means the Bahamas, where people are still recovering from last year’s hurricanes.
.
More than two dozen cruise ships are either lined up at Port Miami and Port Everglades or waiting offshore, the Miami Herald reported. Most have only crew aboard, but several still carry passengers and are steaming toward South Florida ports. Carnival notified the SEC Tuesday that it has more than 6,000 passengers still at sea.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday that the state’s healthcare system is stretched too thin to take on the coronavirus caseload from the Zaandam.

This is going to be a humanitarian disaster.

And DeSantis saying FL’s healthcare system is stretched too thin within the week after spring breaker’s left FL beaches which he wouldn’t close isn’t hypocrisy - it’s a Trumpian assault on reality.

Death Ships.

And to think that the GOP hated Obamacare because it would come with death panels… And now they’re literally ordering people to stick together and die.

Yet another reason to go on a cruise, like I need one. But I’m stuck in FL where my governor is determined to kill me by exposing me to a deadly virus. So it’s like being on a very large cruise ship.

President Donald Trump said later that he would speak with his fellow Republican. “They’re dying on the ship,” Trump said. “I’m going to do what’s right. Not only for us, but for humanity.”

Well , they will NOT be allowed into any ports .

Gotta love those pro-life compassionate conservative christians…

“be prepared to send any severely ill passengers to the countries where the vessels are registered.”

Honestly, even then it’s been typical to quarantine ships with infectious diseases ever since ships were invented.

Although DeSantis’ specific thing of banning ships while refusing to close public spaces is a lot like Trump’s position of regulating gun violence by banning brown people from entering the country rather than addressing white racists.

And come December they will be telling the story of a pregnant mother being refused accommodation in a town, giving birth in a stable…

More like regulating school shootings by closing schools…

A few weeks ago Bill Maher had a bit about how cruises shouldn’t exist anymore (or as the kids say, “shouldn’t still be a thing”). I can’t find a single reason to disagree with that. I do realize many people are employed by the industry–some that I know who provide(d) entertainment on them. But between being effective disease incubators, and the enormous pollution they put into the oceans, it just seems like a luxury the planet and its humans can’t afford anymore.

Time to update with the etymology of the word quarantine, just in case anyone missed it:

Yeah, I do hope this finally kills the cruise ship industry once and for all much the way the Hindenburg finished off airship travel.

Trump said. “I’m going to do what’s right.

Translation: Has Passenger 29 donated generously to my campaign? Will the relatives of 29 do that now? OK, 29 gets off and goes to the hospital, but 19 and 37 shelter in place. It the right thing to do.

Coffin ships ala the Irish Famine. American citizens are onboard these ships. No one should forget the humanitarian disaster not only at sea but all over the U.S.A.

Since I have a feeling that 80% of these passengers voted for 45*, I have an absence of sympathy. But since all the workers have to be stuck there too and put up with what I’m guessing is pretty angry/edgy behavior from these people, I think they should all be tested one at a time and let off - workers first.

Only if they unhook the jets from the sling launches and instead put De Santis and Skelator up on the flight deck attached to the cables…
