I think he’s a classic Narcissist in that deep down he loathes himself and knows he’s a fraud as a human and all that ego is layered over that so that he can hide it from himself and the world.
Oddly he confessed once in an interview that he doesn’t do much self-examination because he’s isn’t at all sure he’d like what he found.

He was a reality TV star, made his bones and put his name in front of us this way. His memoir was ghost written. That was also a breakthrough moment. All he ever wanted was publicity, a big paycheck, people listening to everything he said, which comes with the job, and as many of those same people kissing his ass.

IANAL but it’s my understanding there is something called the Presidential Records Preservation Act. Even without some protective order, all “presidential records”—and I do mean all—must be preserved for a proscribed period of time. There is a significant staff dedicated to collecting and filling all that stuff. So the short answer is no, these telephone notes cannot simply be disappeared.
And if that works out, perhaps some new coastal properties on the Baltic.
