They’re all in NATO, Ukraine has been knocking at the door.
But under an old treaty, we hadn’t stationed combat soldiers in former Warsaw Pact or Soviet satellites. Technically, we still don’t, as they are just rotating through.
After Ukraine, we started that to ensure that Putin wouldn’t just be able to roll in without running into some Americans and therefore dragging the US into the conflict.

I was referring to the Baltics, not Balkans. The Balkan issue is separate, Putin does like allies there, but that’s geographically remote, he’s more concerned about American soldiers on his doorstep.

But you know, when Trump pushed the President of Montenegro out of his way at the first G7, that was deliberate. Montenegro has been fighting Putin tooth and nail.

He might take one for Team Trump. No matter how crapulous (is that a word? if not it should be) this man is, I believe he cares what happens to his family. In my wildest dreams I imagine that there will be evidence against Kushner, Ivanka and Don Jr. and he will resign for immunity for them.
