President Donald Trump reportedly brought up Democratic rivals Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) during a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping in June.
In and of itself this isn’t a crime or impeachable, even if it’s pretty pathetic (just imagine Xi whining about Hong Kong protesters or his wayward minister of housing). But no doubt there’s way more here than they’re letting on. And we’re just starting to find out about all that’s been hidden now that Dems and the media are piling on and digging deep. I’m sure that the worst is yet to come out, and that it’s vastly worse than what we’ve heard so far.
Look, I know that it’s fashionable among some to claim that Repubs will never abandon him, neither the base now elected leaders, but I’ve never believed that. His support has come from two kinds of supporters. The first, of course, are the diehards, the ones who truly love them some Trump. They’ll stick by him no matter what. They’re imbeciles, lunatics, ignoramuses and bigots, losers who run after the bull with the biggest dick and bray.
But the other group are opportunists and hold their noses Repubs who figured that at least he’s not Hillary and so long as the economy’s doing fine and things seem stable beyond his personal issues, they’re will to abide a man they realize is an asshole and imbecile. But he’s THEIR asshole and imbecile. Now that the whole thing’s coming apart, they’ll abandon him, GUARANTEED, just as they did Bush the Lesser, Reagan and Nixon. And they’re a third to half of the party. Once he loses them, he’s more fucked than a five dollar Vegas whore.
100%.
He’s going down, and half the party’s going to run as far away from him as it can.
Trump, currently scrambling to fix the damage from the disastrous trade war he began against China, also reportedly told Jinping that he wouldn’t speak out against China’s treatment of the protesters in Hong Kong.
Bartering US silence on human rights violations for Saudi purchases of hotel rooms and Chinese dirt on his political opponents.
As a businessman, Trump is famous for squandering capital. As president, he will be famous for squandering the country’s moral capital.

I just saw an ad he’s running here in New Mexico that is one long lie about the impeachment, and includes his tweet about how it’s a coup and it ends with “it must be stopped.”
In case anyone had any doubt, from day 1 of his administration, Trump’s only concern has been “What’s in it for me?” this is further proof. The subcategories include “How do I show that I’m the smartest and best at [fill in the blank]?” “How do I make money out of my position?” “How do I show that I, and white men like me, have been and are better then anyone else?” And “How do I win again so I can continue to use the unlimited power of the presidency for my personal advantage?”
The only thing that is surprising is that these ongoing discussions are coming as a surprise!
genius negotiator mr. businessman president simply handed China a lot of leverage in the trade negotiations. I bet China has a record of that conversation too–the super secret vault server doesn’t contain the only record of the phone call.
No, he most certainly did not pay for it. His idiot supporters and various shady characters paid for it, through stray donors. He hasn’t paid for anything his entire life.
That’s what’s so striking about all this … people have WaPi on speed dial and selling each other out on the front page at a breathtaking pace. I admit to being a little scared in this period, but it feels like the fever is about to break. I feel an odd sense of hope.
