CNN: National Security Official Testifies He Was Told To Avoid Giuliani’s Ukraine Scheme

Tim Morrison, the National Security Council’s senior director for European affairs, reportedly testified that a fellow National Security official had warned him to stay away from Rudy Giuliani’s Ukraine scheme.

” Dr. Hill told me that Ambassador Sondland and President Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, were trying to get President Zelensky to reopen Ukrainian investigations into Burisma.” — Morrison

So he was told of the irregularity wrt to Grenade Giuliani/Extorionist-In-Chief’s Ukraine scheme…but in his opening statement he said he did not see something was illegal with the PERFECT call (I have a favor though)?

Morrison’s answers do NOT add up!

Even if nothing was illegal in the strict sense, Morrison has added to weight of evidence for high crimes, and thus the case for impeachment.

Agree on Morrison adding/corroborating the evidence.

However, for someone who has worked 19 years in the govt, he does not recognize that soliciting from a foreign nation for election help is illegal…That’s the part that does NOT add up. It seems like Morrison is giving Trump/Thugs-R-Us a talking point…”It’s NOT illegal to solicit…”

I give Morrison more credit than to believe he is too dimwitted to have not been suspicious about Trump’s little request for a favor. I do like his statement "I was not concerned that anything illegal was discussed.” [emphasis added] because it is wonderful ambiguous about what he believes now.

Yeah I’m confused about this too. Was he there in person on a phone, listening and taking notes? Or was he like some people on a conference call on the phone but playing Candy Crush on his iPad?

And the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round. Next stop: Televised public hearings.

Shouldn’t everyone?

So Morrison is eagerly throwing Sondland and Ghouly Guliani under the bus, while bending over backwards to protect the Boss. Guliani and Sondland are on notice as the designated fall guys.

“…and I was most careful not to check with any attorneys or to look up the Hatch Act on wikipedia or the dictionary definition of extortion.”

I beg to differ. They align perfectly with the new Republican fallback position. “This was all a matter of ‘poor judgement’ but hardly impeachable behavior.”

I had to endure that esteemed asswipe senator from Louisiana, Bill Cassidy, peddling this latest hogwash on NPR during my drive home this evening. Fortunately it’s difficult to rip the infotainment system from a dashboard with bare hands or mine would be laying at the bottom of some muddy gutter by now.

I’m so sick of these gutless wonders spinning their bullshit rationalizations and expecting to be treated with anything but total disgust.

OT: Great news for New-Yorkers. Trump will be shooting people on South Beach instead of 5th Avenue going forward. I hope he takes Guliani and Kushner with him.

His picture is straight out of a caralogue for US intelligence operatives. The trench coat, white shirt, and sensible power tie (not too much power) all fit with his testimony. Nothing too inflammatory, just the facts, ma’am, and carefully edited to avoid obvious finger pointing. I wonder if John Bolton will follows suit or if he plans to ignite some fires. Metaphorically speaking only.

It’s ok, New York has an extradition treaty with Florida, as Epstein learned.

OT: Man, Putin is insatiable. That Trump Tower Moscow better be one hell of a building.

Clever. That potentially gets him off the hook for knowingly not reporting a crime.

Will he be selling Trump Tower next?

Sure. Putin will gladly pay him 3x it’s value. Trump has more than earned it for that quid pro quo.
