CNN Hosts’ Ridiculous Impeachment Theory | Talking Points Memo

CNN hosts John King and Dana Bash made specious argument on Friday that if Democrats hadn’t been trumpeting impeachment for the past two years, Republicans might be more on board with the effort.

By “over reach” they mean “saying mean things about trump.” And by “saying mean things about trump” they mean “telling the truth.”

I despise a gop.

"You see, kids, beginning with asking for Russian election interference is 1) not an impeachable offense and 2) the treasonous Toadglans simply shouldn’t be judged too harshly. Okay?

“Now, about the zillion other crimes he’s committed … well, both sides do it.”

Thanks, John.

BTW, Mr. King, have you read George Conway’s “overreach” yet?

Fun Fact: If you simply change the tenses, Conway’s article makes the perfect eulogy to be read at Cockholster’s none-to-soon funeral.

What the hell planet have they been living on? Planet 9? This kind of idiocy is CNN’s “overreach” at attempting some bastardized version of both-siderism.

I for one am willing to accommodate the both-sideristas, and here is my offer:

If Republicans support investigating Trump, we will consider impeaching Hillary.

Screw CNN and their “both sides” rhetoric.

“He added that Democrats spent the last two-and-a-half years talking about impeaching Trump — and perhaps jumped the gun.
If they had talked about how they didn’t like his behavior, they had aggressive oversight"

JFC Dems retook the House on 2018! The new Congress began in January 2019! Where’re the 2.5 years and “aggressive oversight”?

Remember, the Dems were so, so mean to Richard Nixon. Just terrible they way they treated him!

Sorry, but this is why CNN continues to be a journalistic joke and somewhat irrelevant in my eyes. They’re inserting their opinions into actual reporting and discrediting themselves as they do it.

My hotel TVs typically default to CNN and I move off it as quickly as I can. I want nothing to do with them.

I believe you’re being a bit too accommodating, but I applaud your willingness to meet them in the middle so to speak. Me, I’d give the lady a Nobel Prize for keeping the peace  … and just dispense with the investigations – put the whole Trump clan in Riker’s Island for a few decades. No additional expenses investigating and litigating. Win-win the Republicans can brag about. Oh, and I’ll be extra generous, we should put Barron in foster care.

That works for me. Has a date been set for it yet?

King agreed and said that Bender made “a great point.” He added that Democrats spent the last two-and-a-half years talking about impeaching Trump

Which Democrats? It certainly wasn’t Nancy Pelosi. Good fucking grief, John King, you get paid how much to spew bullshit? Maybe Fox would pay more.

By this logic, we can also say that Republicans have spent the last two years advocating the murder of their political opponents (cf. Steve King, R-IA). But I guess there’s no airtime left to share that bit of info.

Is he that fucking stupid or does he just think that we’re that fucking stupid?

First of all, I thought King and Bash were married to each other, then I heard they split up, and now they’re cozy again. I don’t know if any of that is correct, because I stopped watching CNN years ago. But it’s still just a bunch of bogus bullshit for them to be having about what the Republicans would do if only the Democrats would…

Those people, whatever their own private indecisions are, know nothing about what actual sentient people have been doing or continue to do or will do in the future, much less what they should do. Make them stop this bullshit, or convince them that they need to at least observe and be somewhat aware of what’s going on before they talk about it publicly. The actual Speaker of the House of Representatives has been saying all along that nobody’s impeaching anybody yet and she happens to be the ONLY one who speaks for the House. Others offer their views, and many of them are eloquent in their proffers, but the person who was selected by the members of the House to speak is the one King and Bash should be paying attention to.

I’m shocked…

…that half of the morning joe panel regulars didn’t call in to agree. (Was gonna crap on Chucktodd here too but he’s honestly been pretty unequivocal about this stuff, surprisingly)

Lamebrains. Nancy Pelosi was one Democrat, and a prominent one, who never called for impeachment hearings, until now. These really are the lamestream media. Trying to lump all the Democrats under one point of view is simplistic, not what a good journalist would do. Fire the idiots, and fire their bosses, and their bosses. Clean house.

John King is proof that you don’t have to be smart to be paid millions of dollars to spew corporate talking points on the teevee…
