Justice Clarence Thomas’ financial disclosure form was released Thursday, listing three 2022 trips on billionaire Harlan Crow’s private plane and details of Crow’s 2014 purchase of his mother’s house.

If you look up ‘horse’s ass’ in the dictionary, it says “see Clarence Thomas.” No joke, just the truth. Thomas is a definitional horse’s ass.
“Because of the increased security risk following the Dobbs opinion leak, the May flights were by private plane for official travel as filer’s security detail recommended noncommercial travel whenever possible,” the filing says.
Noncommercial travel? Really? Doesn’t driving your billionaire-financed RV and parking in Walmart parking lots overnight where no one recognizes you count as “noncommercial”? And how were any of these flights deemed to be “official travel”? Where were they to, and how many RWNJ billionaires were waiting to greet Thomas on the tarmac when the jet touched down?
The much touted Founding Fathers screwed up badly when creating the rules for this royalist branch of the government. We are now dealing with the results. Short of a Democratic supermajority I don’t know how this will ever get fixed. Maybe it will take another Civil War after all when the electorate has had enough of the consequences of their perverse interpretation of what’s constitutional.
This is what you get when a politically active network of churches elevates a man possessed of such self loathing that he would sell his people down the river.
What they’re pimping in those churches is the same thing they were pimping 200 years ago along with God’s love of slavery: Self righteousness.
There is some chance that this will lead to coming violence among their people. After all, Protestantism only existed at the behest of the rich and was directed at those that opposed them. They are ignorant, vicious, bloody, fatuous, and self righteous. And not for this first time.
This man is draped with the cloth of his people - spite and rage and endless self regard.

A few questions, among thousands, that immediately spring to mind:
— so “for security reasons” he couldn’t pay for the ride?
— what pressing “security issues” required the private passage over the preceding two decades?
— was his son’s tuition and his mother’s home also security related? How so, precisely?
This is exactly why I never fly commercial.

The craven bullshittery of this is staggering. That said, it can’t really be argued that he would have ruled any different than he has absent the lavish “gifts”. It isn’t as if he would have ruled with the liberal justices on Dobbs, affirmative action, etc. if he wasn’t plied with jet rides and “gifts” to get him to rule the way he does.
